It is remarkable in that it contains 'Petalia', (a patented perfume molecule by Givaudan) and this piqued my interest. If you like Love, Chloe and No 19 Poudre this may join the ranks. I bought it after wearing it from shop testers where your perception is often clouded by the many competing perfumes of that micro climate and, hesitant, unconvinced, I happened to see Victoria Frolova's charming review. It was 'almost free' ( I am beyond shame) and it made its way from a grey market retailer to my door. What do you get? A touch of Ivoire, a bit of white pepper, the orange and the iris. The lavender doesn't come through much, doesn't speak to me, your experience may differ. I don't like the unimaginative bottle designer or the pinky tinge but I guess it's meant to play up the British lavender theme.
Up against Love Chloe and Ivoire (new) it's an 'also ran' but the dry down is pleasant and a bit tart, making it office friendly. Lasts about three hours on me. A nice scent for a soft cotton summer dress, quite girl-next-door and the absolute opposite of its marketing hype.

Lavender from Kent, they say...
Burberry's new fragrance for women was created by Givaudan's perfumers Nathalie Cetto and Antoine Maisondieu who tried to incorporate the smell of English lavender from Kent into a contemporary fashion fragrance. The press material talks about English lavender being "stronger" than the French variant and the important role of using an "English" ingredient in order to emphasize the "Britishness" of the brand. I don't smell any natural lavender in this fragrance at all, be it British or French. "Brit Rhythm" also features iris (in the form of orris absolute, they say) and it's this particular mixture of (synthetic, I'd reckon) iris and lavender which defines "Brit Rhythm". Orange flowers and vetiver contribute to the slightly greenish aspect of the fragrance which in spite of its musical name and the campain aimed at a younger audience smells like a bad version of "Infusion d'Iris". If you want English lavender, try one of the traditional colognes which have been around for ages. If you want iris, buy a true iris-fragrance. I see no need to purchase this weird, synthetic mixture.

A Surprising WINNER in the Affordable Designer Category!
Top Notes: Lavender, Pink Pepper, Neroli, Aldehydes

Heart Note: Orris, Petalia, Blackberry Leaf, Orange Blossom

Base Notes: Musk, Woodsy Notes, Vetiver, Cedar, Courmarin

I am on a mission to use up some of the many, many samples I have accumulated over the last few years. Tonight it was a toss up between Brit Rhythm and Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. I chose Brit Rhythm because I mistakenly looked at the notes for Brit Rhythm for Him and thought that was what I had on hand. Well, it worked out quite well. I really like this a lot!

Lavender, like coconut, is a really tricky note for me, but it is done absolutely BEAUTIFULLY here! I am impressed because lavender is not an easy note to incorporate into a fragrance as far as I am concerned. It is blended so beautifully here with the musk and all the other notes. I detect some lovely aldehydes in the top notes that persist well into the dry down on my skin--just lovely, fresh, clean, classic even.

This fragrance is not only both clean and fresh, it is somehow also warm and comforting. At times, it almost borders on gourmand it smells so good. Yes, it is just a tad synthetic but not so much as to be off putting. Everything just works in this fragrance. If the notes sound good to you, then give this one a try. I think you will be very pleasantly surprised. This is the sort of fragrance that could be your default "it smells so lovely; it works in any setting imaginable; it is a crowd pleaser that will make everyone around you inhale deeply and smile; and, it does it all without breaking the bank type fragrance."

Brit Rhythm for Her is a very comforting, cuddly fragrance, yet somehow it sparkles with a certain effervescence that draws you in. Although marketed as a feminine fragrance, I think young men especially could wear this fragrance. I am sitting here now inhaling deeply and thinking........mmmmm......this is very nice indeed! :)

I am rating this fragrance amongst its peers as an affordable designer fragrance that is a real winner for any age group and both sexes. Performance could be better, but as an affordable designer eau de toilette, it performs as expected. If you have an opening in your wardrobe for this "type" of fragrance, Brit Rhythm for Her would fill the slot quite nicely indeed.

Ahead of its time
This is a clean, fresh (without lemon lime but still somewhat citrusy) warm and slightly spicy fragrance that was quite frankly born in the wrong era.

It is harmless and perfect for an office day during spring/summer.
Given the clean fragrance trend nowadays I think it would have profited if it had been released later.

It is also quite strong for a EDt. It lasts 7-8 hours. It is also quite lavender forward and if you don't like that steer clear.

Simple, fresh fragrance
When I smell it, it smells slightly sweet, you can immediately recognize notes like pink pepper, lavender, musk. I used up the whole bottle and I have to say, I don't want to repeat the fragrance again, some fragrances are just like that, for once and then no more. It's not heavy, fits well for work. I know fragrances that smell in the same direction but lighter than this fragrance, e.g. Oriana, Parfums de Marly or the inexpensive version Ansaam Gold by Lattafa, for the girls who like this fragrance. It's not bad, but better said I don't see the scent on me, it's more suitable for young ladies, a sweet, non-intrusive, light, fresh women's fragrance.

Strong powdery heart from the iris no doubt. Dates it a bit to me yet it remains lovely. I prefer the men’s version and wear it more.

Not sure who this is pitched at, but it ain't your GenXers who grew up with lavender bath cubes. Masacred lavender. Why?!
