Miss Rocaille
The bottle does not match the fragrance inside. The bottle is pink and dainty with embossed roses in the glass giving it a very feminine look. One would expect the perfume to smell like roses or be heavily floral and very womanly. The scent is not typically floral at all. There are some floral notes there but they are light. When you first spray this on your skin, what you get is a very bitter "green" smell. It's almost off putting but it settles down rather quickly and turns into something much softer and friendlier. The "greenness" lasts throughout the duration and like I mentioned previously, there are also some light floral elements as well. The beauty of this scent is the lovely sea water note. It's prominent to my nose in the dry down and that's what I'm mostly getting as the fragrance becomes faint. The lasting power on my skin isn't too great. I find it does fade out pretty fast. I also find that this is a perfume that sits very close to the skin so don't expect too many others around you to notice it. I don't love it but I do like it. Totally unique and different from most of the fragrances I usually wear. Definitely worth a try!

Green Floral
If you love working in your garden, the outdoorsy freshness, the sappy green of cut stems, the smell of newly turned earth, and daisies, Caron have bottled it in Miss Rocaille.

A best buy at $20
Miss Rocaille is a cheap yet good fragrance, and perhaps a safe blind buy if you like green scents dominated by white florals. In spite of the packaging, bottle and color, this is not a girlie-girlie fragrance. No siree bob. It's green, green, green and quite possibly unisex.

I love the opening of this scent, which is very margarita-like on me. I pick out some salt, a lime-like citrus, plus something a bit alcoholic. I love this, and quite frankly it beats Bond's Coney Island opening hands-down, largely because the margarita is not tinged with tropical fruit. At this opening stage, Miss Rocaille is quite lovely and very unique. If only the fragrance was linear and worn like this from end-to-end ....

As Miss Rocaille moves to a dry down, it can become a bit sour on my skin and the LOV amps to a high pitch. Not a fan of this stage, but those who love white florals would probably dig it. However, for the opening experience, I think Miss Rocaille is a best buy at the current price. For those who love how this fragrance evolves, it's a must-buy.

Many compare Miss Rocaille to Manifesto by Isabella Rossellini. I understand the comparison but there is a better one: Miss Rocaille is in the same olfactory ballpark as Elizabeth Arden's Beauty. Like Arden's Beauty, Miss Rocaille is a green white floral with a salty under current. Moreover, like Arden Beauty, Miss Rocaille has that "scent of a woman" thang going on, and many men totally dig & get this. Because the ingredients and experience of the Caron is far superior to the Arden, I can recommend Miss Rocaille as a safe blind buy.

#1 Green Floral
Despite her pink bottle, Miss Rocaille is a very green floral. The opening features a distinct basil, fresh and green with tangerine and orange blossom adding a 'fruity' hint, then a lovely green lily of the valley which presents strongly on me. Water lily and sea note keep the heart moist. Pistachio gives a tiny bit of nuttiness to the base, and the musk is very soft. Reminds me of a spring garden with new grass, plants just starting to flower, and the sea close enough to smell. Longevity and sillage are average on me.

Miss Rocaille.

I will warn those of you trying this for the first time to hold your breath for the first 10 seconds and give it 5 minutes to settle down before starting to explore it.
It gives off a bitter green start like Vent Vert or a light green Aliage.

Once the citrus kicks in.. Then she is on her way. Lilly of the valley and sea water keeps it airy but not beachy. Its riding the green aquatic trend too late by 2004. It does have a miss arpel feel ..where the big houses thought a green floral was the height of youth and freshness for a younger audience. However with the release of angel in 98 and pink sugar the youth were gravitating to the sweet gourmand trend already.

In 2017 however this reads more as a niche with the basil green start. Its price is wonderful and its not something everyone will be wearing. Its fresh, bracing, floral and pistachio on the edges. It doesnt grow dark. Perfect for spring and summer. Its the oddball in the Caron cannon but dont be afraid to try her out if u like green edges in your fragrance.
