Corallium
Opens citrusy sweet on my skin, the predominant head note being the mandarin. If I get closer to the skin I smell the myrrh. At this stage I would describe this fragrance as soft, warm and sweet; very enjoyable to wear. As the fragrance progresses, the sweetness of the citrus notes diminishes and the main body, a patchouli note, underlined by wood and aromatic accords, appears. I would now describe the fragrance as salty, crystalline with a flowery touch. The dry down is a pale, barely noticeable musk.

Capri - I come!
After Turandot's comment I can only show my euphoria.

The heart hops.
My piece of paper lies in front of me and is full larded with my experiences sniffing my wrist.
What do you call this? Head cinema?
I couldn't describe it better (I will anyway never create ;-)).

Spirals into the eyes gets, I sign everything!

Aromatic Cedar - but so much more
So glad to have found this. I've tried a number of cedar wood scents and never liked any of them. So many are dry and oh-so-very-woody, and they so often seem designed to be in your face, a bit like walking into a cedar clothing closet. But this! It begins with a gentle burst of aromatic, spicy citrus (bergamot/orange). The dry down keeps some of the herbs present (and some more come to the fore - sage and patchouli) and it altogether becomes a gentle, smooth, almost milky cedar. There is also a marine touch -- perhaps call it "marine adjacent". In short, it was, for me, love at first sniff and a bottle immediately followed. If you've been disappointed in other woody scents, this could be worth a try. And, as others have said, it really does evoke a hillside in Italy on the Mediterranean or Capri itself (sans the tourists). A delight.

It could be a day-wearer all year round. So far I've been comfortable wearing it during sub-freezing weather and I suspect it will only be better in the spring and summer. The longevity is ok, but the silage not particularly strong, so I guess I'd call it a scent for wearing for yourself, not to show off to others with.

One final point: it pairs incredibly well with City Rhythm's 2654. I'd never have thought of it on my own but a decant seller (r---fragrances) labelled it as "best layering combo", and that was spot on. Absolutely worth trying together. I like both fragrances separately but together they last and last and the full combination of wood, coconut, aromatic spices, sugar, tonka just click. Buy samples of each and try.

Aftershave or cologne?
I usually just test perfume on my skin because after all I am not a perfume reviewer but a perfume wanter.

This time I decided to test this on a testing strip (actually a cotton bud) as well as skin. Quite, quite different results.

On the cotton bud the top notes last and last; four hours in and still strong top notes. I get Christmas oranges so not orange but tangerine or mandarin or satsuma along with a soft peppery bay leaf, cedar and some vague floral white musk.

On my skin the top notes vanish in two shakes of a lamb's tail. I get a bay and cedar aftershave type of smell, with quite a bit of peppery bay. After a couple of hours it becomes a little bit dusty and powdery ( like this dusty powdery development). On my skin at this stage there is something about it that reminds me of Angéliques Sous La Pluie but it doesn't smell like angelica.

My dad used to have a bay rum hair tonic that this puts me in mind of. No idea what company made it and there are many, many bay rum offerings with very differing scent profiles so that probably didn't help narrow down the impression this perfume gives me. This to me is like a cologne but not like 4711, a bay and cedar aftershave, or a bay rum hair tonic.

I couldn't see me wearing this but I think it would suit my brother (I wonder what he would think of all these fragrances that I decide are not for me but would be ok for him, and I wonder what my sister-in-law would think - better not gift it to him, keep out of trouble ha ha).

Italian edit of Royal Water
What a great discovery!

This really smells similar to royal water by Creed. It has very good quality. It’s woody, aromatic, fresh at the same time.

It’s really intriguing and versatile. The price is on point too.

I really disagree about poir longevity. As usual, nose gets blind with a lot of people after some mins. Worth a bottle

Its almost sickly, heavy sweet smell (I assume myrrh or sedum). Definitely long lasting.
Do not smell bergamot or orange.
