Aromatic Cedar - but so much more
So glad to have found this. I've tried a number of cedar wood scents and never liked any of them. So many are dry and oh-so-very-woody, and they so often seem designed to be in your face, a bit like walking into a cedar clothing closet. But this! It begins with a gentle burst of aromatic, spicy citrus (bergamot/orange). The dry down keeps some of the herbs present (and some more come to the fore - sage and patchouli) and it altogether becomes a gentle, smooth, almost milky cedar. There is also a marine touch -- perhaps call it "marine adjacent". In short, it was, for me, love at first sniff and a bottle immediately followed. If you've been disappointed in other woody scents, this could be worth a try. And, as others have said, it really does evoke a hillside in Italy on the Mediterranean or Capri itself (sans the tourists). A delight.
It could be a day-wearer all year round. So far I've been comfortable wearing it during sub-freezing weather and I suspect it will only be better in the spring and summer. The longevity is ok, but the silage not particularly strong, so I guess I'd call it a scent for wearing for yourself, not to show off to others with.
One final point: it pairs incredibly well with City Rhythm's 2654. I'd never have thought of it on my own but a decant seller (r---fragrances) labelled it as "best layering combo", and that was spot on. Absolutely worth trying together. I like both fragrances separately but together they last and last and the full combination of wood, coconut, aromatic spices, sugar, tonka just click. Buy samples of each and try.
