Feminine richness
I have gone on to reviewing So Pretty shortly after smelling Guerlain's Mitsouko, and interestingly enough I find them both slightly similar.

So Pretty is much fruitier of course, however they are both relatively dry scents with a likable bitterness.

A little heavy, but certainly not unpleasant, So Pretty is actually a fragrance I've been trying to track down for years. Classic scents always intrigue me, and So Pretty has not left me disappointed.

The most dominant notes to my nose tends to be the tarty rose, orchid, peach and blackberry. It has a somewhat feminine richness, that gives this fragrance an elegant and sophisticated vibe.

Despite this fragrance being a little dated these days and also difficult to find, I would encourage many young people to go out and test this fragrance while you still can.

There aren't many fragrances like this still around. Forget the soapy and overly sweetened fruity florals of today, So Pretty re-defines fruits and flowers. With excellent sillage and lasting strength, I highly recommend So Pretty.

So pretty - so happy
Well,.. after a long hesitation... I finally want to write a comment again. It’s not easy for me, as I look up in admiration at the writers who craft wonderful comments, who can describe fragrances in their details and simply find the right words.

So Pretty has got me again. I had So Pretty many years ago. Now I was able to snag it at the souk and had to immediately keep an eye out for it on the bay.

So Pretty meets me after all these years exactly as I remember it. Neroli and peach drive me crazy in the first moments. I am smitten. After a while, my beloved iris comes to the fore. I don’t perceive rose. Lily of the valley? Yes. I can’t contain myself anymore.
It indeed reminds me, as some have mentioned before me, of No. 19. So Pretty is sweeter yet still mature.
Oak moss written thick in the pyramid? Mmmhh.... not for me. Instead, there’s a lot of sandalwood and vetiver in the base.
With this scent, I feel feminine but not demure. The longevity is excellent.
To me, it smells modern, and would fit very well on today’s shelves. My incomprehension as to why this fragrance was discontinued is enormous.
A truly great floral chypre!!!!!!!!!!

a blonde beauty
Suddenly they were there: the perfume miniatures!
They were a wonderful addition to our already colorful and diverse world of scents back then.
Not just those little tubes that you received in random assortments or not at all:
No, real little flacons, filled with the original scent!
They stood enticingly in the perfumeries: you could buy and collect them.
How many display cases were acquired back then, just to give these little bottles a fitting place.
My acrylic display case did not survive; but the minis, they are still here: some even still filled! However, these are mostly the scents that were acquired solely for their aesthetic appeal. Their flacons are so beautiful!
And of course, you could test their contents: they were enough to decide:
"Shall I live with you or not!"

Thus, Cartier's "So Pretty" came to me.
The slender, elegant, and so "feminine" flacon captivated me; especially charming in the very small version.
For my heart actually belonged to Cartier's Panther back then: "Panthère de Cartier" in the crystal ball flanked by two panthers or in the travel version.

So I was curious about what this golden liquid had in store for me.
It was "So Pretty"!
The great era of aldehydes was waning; so it happened that now and then a start was a bit colorless.
Not with this fragrance being!

The basket is filled to perfection after a stroll through the orchard, and accordingly, the fragrance opening is:
Fresh bergamot and mandarin meet here with dark, juicy blackberry, before wonderfully ripe, sweet peaches and aromatic neroli skillfully transition to the floral heart note.
There, the white, intensely fragrant classics lily of the valley and jasmine await - both bursting with joy! - and the noble rose does not take long to join in, contributing its sensually ripe scent.
The fruity-aromatic radiance of the previous fragrance composition is pleasantly dusted by iris.
Even at Cartier, a good chypre scent is appreciated:
Thus, oak moss, paired with sandalwood, tempts the senses, brushing them with resinous benzoin and balsamic-woody cedarwood accents.
And just to dim them again shortly thereafter with well-measured earthy-dark vetiver notes and finally pamper them with a warm, rich musk blanket.
"So Pretty" is now perfectly styled and ready to conquer the world!

A graceful women's fragrance has been created here; bright and radiant, without being loud or intrusive.
A finely cut fragrance gem, suitable for all occasions and adorning its wearer. "So Pretty" is indeed the right name; for beautiful is this golden and extremely charming being.

I liked it very much, and I also remember that "So Pretty" made a colleague very unhappy. She had traveled for the first time with her husband after buying a house and sacrificing a lot, and brought back a flacon of "So Pretty" from the duty-free shop.
How proud she was and how well they matched together!
Now this jewel had to be shown and admired; so it stood on the desk in the office and in the bathroom at home - in full light!
Our quiet warnings went unheeded.
First, the golden blonde content darkened, and then what had to happen happened: the fragrance went off!
She was so disappointed and ultimately very angry with herself when she realized that she had destroyed her treasure.
Thus, "So Pretty" will always remain associated in my memory with the tears that this nice woman cried back then.
Later, I met her again: she had repurchased "So Pretty" and would treat it with care in the future.
So this fragrance story even has a moral, imagine that!

Just So Pretty? No! Self-confident!
So Pretty as a name for this perfume is misleading. Because simply pretty, a pretty scent that corresponds to today's zeitgeist - close to the body, sweet, floral - is not what So Pretty is. So Pretty does not embody the image of the so pretty young woman who gazes at her husband with doe eyes during dinner as he talks about his day.
So Pretty is the beautiful scent of an upright woman who stands firmly on both feet in life. But perhaps the name is indeed a program. Maybe it is meant for the pretty women who are often underestimated because people assume very little of them due to their beauty? Yes, yes, clichés sometimes stick like glue.
So Pretty starts citrus-fruity and entirely powerful. The beautiful lady already shows here where the hammer hangs.
Intoxicating flowers in the heart, a distinct iris note that somehow reminds one of Chanel 19. Only So Pretty is a touch softer.
The base exudes self-confidence, woody, unsweet, soft, grassy. A wonderful chypre with all its facets! Erotic?
Only in the case that the man is worthy of this beautiful and strong woman who carries him. Then So Pretty is the best elixir!

It's "So Pretty" to fall in Love *sing*
No, of course the song is called: "It's so easy to fall in Love," but somehow it’s still true.
Falling in love is beautiful, it’s easy, it’s fun, and it really gives you a boost!
I remember "So Pretty" from earlier. I have a floral-fresh memory of it, and the liquid wasn’t as dark as it is today, but light yellow. Well, the scent I have here has certainly darkened over the years, and like a good wine, the "taste" for the nose has become more intense. Not spoiled, not reformulated or anything. Original original!
"So Pretty" is a silly - well, feminine scent ;-) . Elegant, softly chypre-like, floral, and intense.
It was something special for me back then, it made me feel a bit more grown-up and all that.
Today I am grown-up - or so I hope *g* - and I wear it with a completely different perception.
So Pretty is still floral, and the orchid and rose are in the foreground. Jasmine doesn’t really fit in, and luckily I don’t perceive it.
The specified base note with oak moss and vetiver gives the scent its chypre-like quality, which is really very flattering. I rarely like chypre scents, but sometimes it just fits. The beginning almost reminds me a bit of Charlie by Revlon, specifically the original (blue). "Hello, here I am!" So Pretty screams and immediately sits down politely. A beautiful delicate hint of neroli and peach, as if you lift the lid off a pot to briefly inhale the steam, fills the air for a moment and then dissipates again. Blackberry and mandarin also sit down and watch the commotion attentively. What commotion, actually? The scent note mist that moves back and forth? It shows you... Ha, ALL of this is in me? Chypre mist, green-earthy and floral, slightly woody from vetiver and cedar, hardly fruity, although mandarin and blackberry are supposed to be in there. Although, mandarin perhaps. That could be a greenish one, herbaceous, slightly bitter. Peach, as mentioned, is just a hint.
And then it’s like wrapping your arms around yourself, closing your eyes and smiling, as if you’re listening to a cuddly song. Namely when finally the iris and lily of the valley make it cozy, clean, and give the one who smells you the feeling, "...don’t touch me *whispers*... only if I allow it!" A little diva from Cartier that I never want to miss!

At first bulky: herbal moss, sour cassis. But then wonderfully harmonious! Lovely fruity rose, dusted with soft iris. Naturally unsweet.

Elegant, chic, and fruity-floral on a robust oak moss base. A bit like No. 19, but in "pretty."

Very noble floral scent: feels more youthful and lively due to the many fruits than ladylike. Fine powder and oak moss form the framework.

"So pretty": a name - a program! The feeling of being a woman; a bit old-fashioned in the era of emerging unisex fragrances.
