When "chypres" got really spicy!
This is yet another fragrance commentary for which I have no previous speakers. But I don't need to, my nose has already decided! This sweet, spicy, floral, earthy scent is like or resembles nothing else I've smelled before. Why was such a fragrance only discontinued? It could easily compete with most niche perfumes these days. And yet it is somehow "classic"! But it also contains avant-garde details that really have it all. This slightly earthy spiciness alone, which I associate with spice, clove and vetiver. Then there are all kinds of flowers, dark rose and tart garden carnation, a hint of citrus, tart woods - probably real sandalwood - and - not to be missed - oakmoss! But it is above all this spiciness that makes it so unique. A whole parade of spices gradually opens up. The clove may be joined by coriander and cardamom. Perhaps a little basil too. Everything weaves together into a powerful melange of aromas. This is my spiciest fragrance to date, which I would classify as "chypre". And there will hardly be another one like it in this form. I'm just thrilled - "signature number 2 suspect" next to the "Scherrer" ;-))
