Maybe they got something new in and I needed cat food anyway. Yes, there was something new on the shelf: Golden Delicious by DKNY. I know it's not new, it's been around for years. Since 2011, when we were visiting my brother in Berlin. My sister-in-law also liked the pink and green apple very much and told me about this new scent she wanted to get the following week. All I meant was that he was new at this store. Our Müller branch is very small, but very cosy, and every now and then a new scent comes in, but another one comes out. I always liked this golden apple very much and I was of the opinion that I was allowed to treat myself this morning after all the Piesackerei. He also had a bargain, 19.95/30ml.
Golden Delicious cannot deny its relationship to the green Be Delicious and also to the pink Fresh Blossom. All three go, contrary to the newer Flankern, in a similar direction. I smell mainly orange blossom, but none that smells like suntan lotion. The orange blossom simply smells like orange blossoms, just like the air in Florida in the evening. From there I also know the scent of orange blossom and love it very much. I can't smell a mirabelle plum. The heart note is marked by lily and lily of the valley, towards later it becomes a delicate vanilla. I can't see any roses. The scent is not very woody in the base, except for sandalwood I smell nothing else, not even musk.
For me, Golden Delicious is a very familiar, homey fragrance. Even if I don't smell apples and don't find the scent sweet, I still have to think of a warm, fragrant apple pie. The fragrance is very familiar and gives me a sense of security, it is extremely friendly and homely to me. A rather discreet, body-hugging fragrance, if you don't overdo it with spraying. Here my standard dosage of 3-4 sprayers distributed on upper body and arms for 4-5 hours is enough for me. He could make an extra hour in the fall if it's really cool.
I think the bottle's pretty. The lid can be easily removed by turning it, with the 15ml version this is always a problem until you get it down. And with the 50ml the spraying mechanism is in the lid, I find now also not so practical. I find the rating of 6.4 a little bad for this fragrance, I pers. think there are far worse ones. But it's always a matter of taste and it doesn't matter to me personally. :)
