Vodka shots, wet concrete and soap

Clean and refreshing but unfortunately not my cup of tea. A pleasant enough lemon-scented detergent blend in my opinion.

I'll give credit to this fragrance for being unique and modern. DKNY is like a mixture of fruits, soapiness and spices. There is also a subtle hint of alcohol, like vodka intermixed with the citrusy top notes.

I have actually smelt this on a girl that I used to work with that really did this scent justice. On her DKNY smelt clean and pretty but on my skin this fragrance is acrid and strong. It really depends on skin chemistry with this scent.

I read somewhere that there was a note of wet cobblestones in this fragrance and somehow I sense it. DKNY does remind me of a city just after a storm, the smell of damp concrete and stone. A fascinating scent to say the least.

This is a relatively light scent which lasts a great while on the skin. I can't say that I disliked this fragrance, I enjoyed it to a certain extent just not on myself.

blandness bottled

On me, it's a bland fruity-floral with a faky chemical note that I think must be the vodka. That burns off after a while, leaving a simple fruity-tea type of smell, a cousin to Tommy Girl. (Which is also completely inoffensive and boring on me.) Most scents last a long time on me, but this one waves a wan goodbye at about 1 1/2 hours and drifts off to sleep. (051609)

New York City in the 2000s

For me definitely a good representation of the 2000s. The citrusy fresh smell alines very well with the clean design of the flacon – which I associate with the shiny skyscrapers fronts of New York City (Donna Karan New York), the same goes for the bold big writing of the brand. The smell is also very representative of the time with it’s clean nuances, nearly gender neutral fitting to the clean advertisements such the classic Calvin Klein advertisements and the metallic, cooling colours all around. Definitely a good companion over the years! A little edgy and fresh – very well suiting for everyday life.

I wanted to like you

DKNY is a love/hate relationship to me. I adore the heavy Black Cashmere and the gorgeous Gold EdT. I have sold my Be Delicious. It never became an even tolerable relationship. But I do meet and greet every Donna Karan fragrance welcome for a try. What if I found my new true love among their scents?
I have had DKNY Women for a long time but never tried it. I suppose it is due to the somewhat uninspiring bottle. Today is the day. First sniff: grapefruit? But no. The mix of tomato leaf and mandarin orange tricks my nose. A really great smell; fresh with a soothing bitterness that keeps the apricot away - for a while. Unfortunately, it does appear within the first thirty minutes and that is a no go for me. As fresh and delicious as it starts out, as cloying and synthetic/sweet it turns. After the turn, nothing else happens. It stay fruity sweet until the end after four to five hours.
But the beginning is good. For you who like freshies, this is worth a try - recommended as a decant and with a plan of what to spray on after the first fifteen minutes.

I wear in the summer when many other sweet perfumes are too much and make me nauseous. I only have a 30ml bottle and I think I might buy a backup.

The bitterness feels like it cools my blood and skin. like when you walk under trees in the summer heat.
