Blackcurrant bud and I are not buddies

I’ve tried a few of Donna Karan apples and dismissed all that I made acquaintances with. Then I saw Be Tempted and felt tempted to give it a try, so I ordered a sample of it. My intuition kept saying that it would not suit me, for both blackcurrant and blackcurrant bud, in medium to high doses, are not my buddies. Anyway, stubborn as I am, I sprayed it only once on my forearm and that was enough to smell this blast of extremely over sweetened red apple immediately accompanied by a loud blackcurrant bud. And this way the fragrance stayed for almost half an hour – the amount of time I manage to bare with it. Then I had to scrub it! At least it disappeared with only one scrub. I’m sure some lucky ones will find this one adorable, but it is not for me.

Don’t Be Tempted

Not that great of a fragrance. It comes blasting on so strongly it makes me gag. Super potent blackcurrant and licorice do not mix well together. Smells like a bingo hall on a Friday night. Orange blossom nor rose had a chance here—there’s no way to uncover any other scent besides the two I mentioned. I’m just happy I bought a mini bottle. The bottle is their traditional round one and is cute on my mini perfume shelf, but I’ll never wear this one again. Total gag!

Sweet Licorice Red Apple

Based on reviews and everything I’ve read, I expected this to be strong. Not beast mode, but strong. It is not. Very mild strength and that’s about it. Also I really don’t like the sprayer. The bottle is beautiful but the stream from the nozzle is this pathetic puff that sprays very wide. I think that might be why it comes off as weak, half of what you spray simply ends up in the air.

I blind bought a 3.4 ounce bottle for $25 and it was worth the experience. The fragrance is a vibrant, sugary red apple with a super sweet licorice note. After about twenty minutes it is just vaguely sweet and slightly perfumy, the apple mostly disappears. However, that licorice note does set it apart from a lot of other red apples I’ve smelled before.

I don’t hate it, but it severely lacks in performance. I am hoping a couple of months tucked away will do it some good. I feel like this could be phenomenal and sexy sweet but right now it’s just a very lightly scented lackluster body spray type of fragrance.

Smells like Bali

When I first smelled the perfume on a scent strip in a gossip magazine of my friend, I immediately had to think of a vacation on the island of Bali.
According to the description, the perfume contains "Indonesian patchouli" in the base note.
Seems to be true ;)

Cheerful and Romantic

At first, I notice strong and sweet red fruits. Definitely a perfume for summer/spring. But then in the drydown, you can sense vanilla and no fruits at all. Suddenly, it becomes a completely different gentle scent. It starts off cheerful and ends romantically. I really like both moments and am very pleased with my blind purchase.
