Simple But Very Nice
I purchased a 50ML of Davidoff Run Wild about three years ago. I wore it maybe a hand-full of times since purchasing it. I thought it was nice but nothing special! I wore it today for the first time in about two years. Man! It smells really nice! You get Cinnamon, Ginger, and some Lavender when you first spray it on. Semi-sweet bubble-gum smell. It can come off slightly aquatic as well. As it dries down you get this slightly pine-green and vanilla smell. I sprayed this morning around 8:30am and it's still projecting well and it's around 2:30pm. I sprayed about six times on skin and clothes. I think it lasts about 7-8 hours on clothes. This is a very nice fragrance! When I first purchased it, it smelled very synthetic. Now that it's sat for a few years, it smells well blended. Call it Maceration or Oxidation, it's a real thing. I rate this fragrance 8/10.

Not so wild but quite pleasant
I've only owned this for a short time but with three full wears I've come to the conclusion I learned all I need to know about this one, because, just as with the other fairly recent Davidoff release 'Cool Water Intense' this is quite a simple fragrance and that's not always a bad thing, even if I'd had hoped for a little more from Run Wild.

First things first I feel this has been kind of unfairly trashed but then again I do understand some of the criticism I suppose. Make no mistake, as with CWI Run Wild is aimed at the more youthful segment of the market. This fragrance is most definitely of the 'now' or (relatively) recent trends in men's perfumery. I've heard people mention a similarity with V&R Spicebomb Nightvision, I don't really remember that one as I only smelled it once but really to me, Run Wild is like a lighter, less sweet/cloying 'Invictus type' scent but with a slight green hue. I think that maybe Clavin Klein's Truth for Men was an inspiration here for that green touch but RW also makes me think of some fruity boiled sweets I've had in the past, but this is definitely not a sugary gourmand fragrance,, it's more like when you smell someone not far away sucking on a green boiled sweet, there's not much to evoke evergreen forests here despite the listed fir note.

I was hoping for a bit more bite with this one, a bit more personality, it's not very memorable but it's at least far from horrible. It's still usually winter weather where I live but the last few days have been strangely spring-like and Run Wild was very pleasant to wear, pretty strong at first but quickly pulls in closer to the skin, longevity seems OK though, especially for a light scent. Strangely on the later dry-down I get a slight vanillic note, kind of like the one in Armani Stronger with You (of course much lighter here!).

Run Wild is far from another classic for me but it's also far from being a complete dud, worth a try for a simple, pleasant, modern/youthful everyday scent on those days when you don't want an invasive fragrance. Honestly I would've been disappointed had I paid full retail but for around 20 euros for 100ml I don't feel too hard done by with this stuff. Nice bottle and cap too.

Ran into a wall!
The new Davidoff "Run Wild". Barely tested, rarely commented on, with expectations leaning towards the fragrance pyramid associations of the legend "Relax". For €66, the 100ml bottle is staring at me. It has to come with me to Cyprus! Nothing can go wrong, right?! Even if it turns out to be just mediocre, the few alternatives in the Düsseldorf Duty Free area could never compete with it?!?!... Think again! Because then the top note hits, and the shock is written all over my face. A terrible scent that would have remained on the shelf even for €20. Despite the rather poor Davidoff fragrances in recent years, I did not expect THIS... "Run Wild" strikingly reminds me of another release from recent years, but I just can't recall which men's fragrance it was. It must have also received a miserable review from me. Maybe some "Invictus" or one of Diesel's fists. Either way: "Run Wild" does not smell good. To describe it unemotionally. Which is hard, as the disappointment runs deep.

"Run Wild" is a chemically piercing lavender monster. Unnatural, intrusive, annoying. Simply not a pleasant composition. Not creative or interesting either. Just a mind-boggling mishmash - as if you poured equal parts of cola, Fanta, Sprite, and red wine into a plastic glass and stirred well. Horrible and neither here nor there. "Relax" must be turning in its grave. There are not worlds in between, but universes. "Run Wild" is neither agile nor fresh, neither masculine nor modern. It is a sticky cream scent with no recognizability. Floating and gum-like. That's the trend right now; it gains more grip towards the end - but overall, it's a testament to poverty. Unfortunately. Davidoff needs a turnaround almost more than the SPD...

Bottle: simple but quite valuable... at least measured by the content.
Sillage: already quite heavy in its piercing synthetic nature
Longevity: 7 hours would be solid... if the scent were fitting.

Conclusion: a new low for Davidoff. At least regarding "new" fragrances and names. But even among the many miserable flankers, it will be hard to find something worse. Neither wild nor a good run. "Run Wild" is a disaster. Artificial, unattractive, cheap, and boring on top of that. Like a chewed-up bubblegum stuck to the street. A lavender disaster that hopefully does not foreshadow the soon-to-come "Cool Water Intense"...

Run wild? More like "Walk sluggish".
A green bottle from Davidoff: This naturally evokes associations with the first, the great, the primal green Davidoff. Especially since its green appears much richer on the illuminated shelf of the local Müller than in the Parfumo search photo. The reduced pyramid (quickly looked up) also sounds interesting in theory, if one weren't already accustomed to perceiving these more as part of the marketing strategy than as actual hints about the scent character. The adjective and localization overkill also makes its entrance here: What exactly makes "Madagascar cinnamon" and "American lavender" so special that their origin needs to be explicitly mentioned? One inevitably thinks of advertising icons like the "Byzantine king nut," "original Kabua cocoa," or the immortal "Piedmont cherry."

So, between delicate hope and sober skepticism, the first sniff on the wrist:

Burnt chewing gum like in Invictus and its ilk. Great! Is that supposed to be the cinnamon?! You must be kidding me... Well, okay, next sniff. And where's my lavender? Ah, there it is, but it can't compete with the penetrating chewing gum note and even clashes with it; I suspect this is the cause of the plastic burnt smell that I've already noticed in some modern candy scents with listed lavender. After an hour, the sickly sweet One Million caramel joins the chewing gum, and together these two bumper car brats really let nothing through that was so clumsily lined up in the pyramid. Thankfully, longevity and sillage are hardly worth mentioning.

In my profile, I declare the army of fog machine scents to be my fragrance nemesis. This one belongs to that category: It blurs and glues together everything that could make it interesting into an arbitrary mush and thus behaves towards a proper perfume that harmonizes its ingredients like a fresh salad does to a "green" smoothie: Here "nutrition" instead of food, there "projecting" instead of scenting (which, as mentioned, it doesn't really do either). So it fits well into our times - which also somewhat answers the question of "why"; for it is indeed not entirely clear why a brand like Davidoff still relies on this horse that has been ridden to death over the years.

My 50th comment was supposed to be something special, but it turned into a spontaneous takedown. The hundredth will be more pleasant, I promise.

Run Wild - but Backwards and in Circles
Here we find yet another absolutely misguided presentation of a product that borders on outrageous audacity.

Of the mentioned fragrance notes, with all love and a bit of imagination, the lavender is perceptible... albeit subtly and rather weakly.

What remains is a musty, spicy-sweet "experience" that is far from wild freshness. Here we encounter a synthetic scent that has been smelled and cursed everywhere before.

Uninspired and solely designed for unsuspecting buyers, this fragrance comes across.

Tastes differ, but please... keep your hands off!

More Azzaro Wanted than Invictus, bubble gum sweet nevertheless. Quite pleasant, youthful freshie. Nothing to go wrong here.

A simple, uplifting & youthful scent, definitely in the style of 'Invictus' et al but possibly not as cloying or sweet. It's OK, nice bottle

Sour, fermented pseudo-freshness with essences that nature would never provide, not even from a fir tree. I go wild and run to the bathroom, gag.

Davidoff used to be a great perfume brand.
This sweet-synthetic 0815 brew is a farewell to the once good values.
What a shame.

Complete synthetic overkill. Lavender? Pine resin? Cinnamon? The truth is Ambroxan and maybe Calone.

The pyramid sounds interesting. I'm curious, maybe this will finally be a decent Davidoff again!
