Pass on this Pleasures Flanker
Pleasures Delight = 1 part Escada Moon Sparkle + 1 part Mariah Carey M + 2 parts Angel.

Very BTDT sugary vanilla-patch flanker in the Pleasures line-up. $74 for 100ml? Way over-priced for a nothing special, nothing unique, very ordinary scent.

Pleasures Delight hurts my teeth and makes my DH gag. It's that sweet. Run the other way.

Estee Lauder makes a gourmand
Estee Lauder and myself tend to have our ups and downs. I rather enjoy her older and more classic fragrances, however the more recent fragrances often get bad reviews from me.

Pleasures Delight is one of her scents that I do like.

This fragrance is very gourmand. It's mostly rich caramel, strawberry icecream, marshmallows, pulpy pomegranate and sugared rose petals.

The scent in my opinion is a little strong and often headache inducing, especially if over-applied. Because of its thick and syrupy, candy-like structure, Pleasures Delight won't appeal to everyone. In some instances it reminds me of Fantasy by Britney Spears and Fancy by Jessica Simpson.

When this fragrance was released there was a massive trend for sweet scents, however recently there has been more of a need for soapy and refreshing scents. So evidently this fragrance wouldn't be as popular as it may have been, however for those of you that do love gourmands, especially those with a strong caramel note, Pleasures Delight may indeed delight you.

Floral Fruity Gourmand
It has a strong fruity opening of pomegranate and strawberries.
It soon develops its heart of peony and marshmallow sweetness!
It's deep sweet gourmand ,candied caramel and patchouli. It differs from all the pleasures editions. It's different in the way that most of pleasures are florals
wearable in spring or summer ,this fruity gourmand is nice warm and easy wearing in winter time.Longevity is very good also.

Not for me
Vanilla birthday cake with strawberry filling and white bakery frosting, plus a little bazooka bubble gum mixed in. I also get a plasticy smell. I feel like all the notes in here are artificial. It also doesn't last very long. Not impressed.

The Death of the Strawberry
Some time ago, I received a sample of Pleasures Delight from the lovely Tarata (thank you for your generous "donation campaign"!).
Well, the title promises both pleasure and delight! So, let’s get to work (testing) in a light and fresh manner!

In the top notes, I am greeted by a truly delicate and fine strawberry and freesia. The promised green notes remain very subtle in the background; I can't really identify them! Soon, I start to miss these green notes, as the fragrance develops into something sweeter, sweeter, and even sweeter. Mind you, this development is not toothache-sweet, but in my opinion, it is very much a matter of taste (not quite mine, anyway).
The nice strawberry from the top notes seems to be drowning in a molasses in the heart notes and was not seen again in the further development! At this point, I must take a moment of silence for the little strawberry! The other flowers announced in the pyramid have not shown themselves at all, probably out of fear that they might end up like the strawberry.
On we go! In the base, the molasses finally pairs with egg, resulting in marshmallow. Grandma Caramel is the midwife at the birth. It’s a shame that the father listed on the birth certificate, the patchouli herb, has disappeared and shamelessly left mother and child in the lurch! Even though patchouli has a sweet tone, it could have at least added some complexity to the base!

-------------------

Perhaps this all sounds much worse than I actually experienced. However, the longer I had PD on my arm, the less I wanted to continue on this journey with it.
While I felt reminded of "Pleasures," I increasingly missed its delicate floral character and light green notes!

So: Those who enjoy sweetness and do not place value on a complex gourmand note will be well served here.
Those looking for a fresh strawberry (in a subtly woody base) will be much better off with "Esencia de Higo"!

I realize I'm an outlier, but I'm smitten with the fresh strawberry note in this winsome, too-floral-to-be-edible fruitchouli done right.

Lost in a sugary cloud wonderland, munching on fruits, caramel + marshmallow. Vanilla + almonds are also in the mix. Too synthetic + sweet for me.

Caramel-like, sugary sweet, and floral. For me, a very delicious comfort for gloomy weather days.
