The best Saffron scent I know

“Cavort is an intensely intimate fragrance that evokes the frisson of excitement of a first encounter.”

This is one of the few fragrances that was love at first sight. I had a long list of scents i wanted to try maybe two years ago but the customer service picked this one straight off the shelf and said it was made for me. And it really was! I didn’t needed to try this for weeks to know if I love it or not. Ok, I went to take one Prosecco and after that I had made my decision.

Cavort is an mazing captivating blend of accords including warm spices, woody, amber and white florals. This is in the same time classy, unique, mysterious and sexy but still very easy to wear in all kind of occasions and outfits. This is perfect for autumn, winter and spring time but I can see myself wearing this during the chill summer evenings as well.

Saffron makes this soft, intimate and earthy. Cinnamon gives warm, spicy note in the same time when Geranium lingers around in a pleasant aromatic way and Labdanum gives a deep power, a leathery note for the blend (this juice is not weak). Sandalwood and Patchouli settle down to soft and satisfying base notes and these all together stays all the day in my skin. I adore the mix of Ylang Ylang, Jasmin and Orange Flower together with Rose in the middle notes (and the whole blend oc). I find this really addictive and intoxicating yet sophisticated blend which projects strongly though. Imo this is one of the best from FDB, another ones which I love are Heritage, Sahraa, Milano and Cannabis Intense.

This beauty you have to experience yourself to understand totally what I mean. This is so perfectly blended and everything in this is in harmony: that’s why I tried to separate the notes because otherwise it would have been impossible to understand what’s going on. The scent is totally unisex but I would say it's more unique on women and more versatile on men. Longevity is great and a sillage is huge.

Incense, sweet resins, and rose! Really pretty!

Personal: 8.5/10 - I really like it! Warm, spicy, and woody, but I find the rose a bit loud.
Mass appeal: 7/10 - Smooth and polished, but the spiciness and rose may not be for everyone.
Performance: 8/10 - Strong but not overwhelming. Expected from a resinous fragrance.
Value: 4/10 - It's over $300, but it's so well blended and high quality that it deserves better than a 2/10.
Uniqueness: 7/10 - It's a well refined spicy amber blend with loud rose. Not totally original, but luxurious execution nonetheless.
SCORE: 69/100

Full bottle buy? NO. It really is beautiful, and it gives renaissance vibes, but it's so pricey.
Blind buy? NO, it's too spicy to be safe. It's not crazy, but it's spicy enough that you should sample first. And expensive.
Recommend? YES, it's a gorgeous spicy resinous fragrance that makes rose work.
Date night? YES, warm and cozy. Perfect for evening wear.
Office safe? NO, too loud and bold for the boardroom.

Pros: High quality, smooth, well polished spicy resins. Elegant and perfect for the cold.
Cons: Very expensive, not viable for daily wear. Smells great but with a very narrow use case (COLD).

This smells like the renaissance faire. Smooth, rich, resinous incense with sweet florals to keep it all smooth and lovable. This is borderline masterpiece, but the rose is a bit too strong for me to give it a 9/10. It's great though and something that everyone should smell. It's luxurious, well polished, bold, and sensual. It's not hugely unique, but it does the spicy sweet floral incense vibe VERY well. Absolutely worth sampling!

A luxurious evening scent, but not one I'd shovel out a good chunk of a paycheck to buy.

in and of itself

For lovers...

That’s the name of the collection Cavort belongs to — and it makes perfect sense. This is a fragrance that speaks of desire, of the need for friction, of bodies drawn together. A scent that screams closeness.

Saffron has that effect on me — it evokes skin that longs to be touched. Cinnamon adds a powdery softness. Again, skin. Lips slightly parted.

Unlike other “sensual” perfumes, this one isn’t just about the act itself — it focuses on everything before.

The lingering glances, smiles that last longer than they should, a thumb slowly brushing the tips of the other fingers...

The messages, the subtext, the feeling there isn’t enough time, the fear of not being understood — or worse, of being too well understood. The heartbeat.

All of that is conveyed in a few notes of rose, jasmine, and ylang-ylang.

Perfumery, once again, proves to be art in and of itself.

Cavort is seductive!!!

The first word that came to my mind after spraying it on was "fresh"! Fresh and spicy!
A beautiful rose sprinkled with cinnamon wafts towards me.
A masterpiece of a fragrance, which in my opinion is really seductive.
As the fragrance tells the story of a first encounter! When that tension and crackle are in the air.
Two glances meet and captivate.
Jasmine is also very present in this fragrance.
It's not just a first encounter, that's for sure!!!

The power of attraction

I have been using parfumo for some time now for all the useful information about fragrances. This site is a wonderful source of knowledge and information for me, an indispensable support when choosing a new fragrance, if it has to be a blind buy again. By the way, I love to buy fragrances blind, even if this way leads to disappointment from time to time.

At the same time, however, I have to admit that although my olfactory perception works well per se, I am not really good at identifying individual fragrance components within a fragrance pyramid in isolation and describing them so beautifully in a review, as many fragrance lovers do here. My admiration for this.

As I love photography as an art form and music and sound are an important part of my life, I think it's only logical that my nature is just as enthusiastic about fragrances. Whether visual, acoustic or olfactory art...each of these art forms is equally fascinating to me.
Not only do I find it interesting to see how other people react to a scent, I also love enjoying a scent alone or with my partner and pondering to what extent it creates and/or influences which emotions, or which images it evokes.
So far, the impulse to write a few lines about a fragrance has been rather limited due to a lack of motivation. I think there are an incredible number of fragrances with enormous potential to inspire. But even with beautiful fragrances that always cast a spell over me, such as the gourmand Zaya, Dalika, Moonlight, the dark elegance of Amber Aoud Absolue Précieux, the majesty of Nefs, the fruity vibrancy of Flamenco or the noble luminosity of my beloved Tabit...whenever I thought to myself "that would be a good occasion for your first review on parfumo", I ultimately lacked the decisive drive to put this into practice.
Surprisingly, the situation was completely different with a fragrance called CAVORT, which in my opinion was completely under the radar.
Translated from English, CAVORT means to romp, frolic or play around.
First and foremost, I associate this fragrance with the power of attraction. Because this fragrance always manages to make me reach for the bottle and spray myself with it. It literally draws me in, beams at me, seduces me. I don't know whether this fragrance is therefore automatically suitable for playing a seductive role in a romantic evening. If only because, as is so often the case, both its longevity and its sillage are unfortunately nowhere near the price. In fact, I have to spray CAVORT several times a day because it simply disappears too quickly from my skin.
However, this also happens to me with many other fragrances that have been rated with a good H/S on parfumo. To name a few examples: Kaltat Night, Oud Cadenza, Sillage and, unfortunately, Althaïr. Once sprayed on, they disappear again.
However, it is the top note of CAVORT that enchants me so much. The saffron, rose and cinnamon combine to create such a refreshing conglomerate of sensuality that it brings a smile to my lips every time and elicits an affirmative "Hmmm".

In my opinion, the fragrance is perfect for an evening out, a date, for example, or a romantic evening with your better half. The fragrance is neither loud nor room-filling, rather it elegantly caresses the moment and, with a little imagination and subtlety, hints at an intention of seduction :) Ideally, you should keep a small bottle in a travel bottle in your trouser pocket so that you can spray it again due to its short-lived nature.

I would describe the seduction that this fragrance exerts on me in the top note as addictive. That's why it occasionally finds a place on the back of my thumb while I'm working in the office so that I can sniff it constantly.
All too often in life, we are confronted with the finite nature of things and, as already mentioned, it is the same here. Unfortunately, CAVORT leads me quite quickly to the gentle incense in the base, which I also appreciate very much, but which also shows me the very limited longevity of this wonderful fragrance. Shortly afterwards, it leaves through the back door, leaving only a mild trace of sandalwood and a gentle creaminess before it fades as a pleasant memory, if you could only call a small sample your own. :)
What a pity! How I wish I had more of it. This wonderful, seductive and lovely fragrance, which in my opinion is certainly unisex, but for my taste tends to be classified as feminine.
