A unique little twist on Violet-raspberry centric perfume. It has an opening thats slightly anisic which would be the licorice note, in a swirl of powdered sugar, violets and raspberry and a woodsy base. Its not too sweet it is just right. I simply love this perfume creation.

I bought this fragrance at the Frau Tonis shop in Berlin. It will always remind me of Berlin. And somehow it fits. A scent like a multifaceted city, quirky and strong. That's exactly how no. 37 smells.

I wear it rarely, as I prefer lighter fragrances. But when I do wear it, I completely immerse myself in it. Beautiful.

Violet Pastilles

I have the violet scent from Parfum-Individual Harry Lehmann. According to Parfumo, the scents are identical. Therefore, the violet scent is not listed again in this reference work under the Lehmann brand, and I will comment on the scent here.
On Lehmann's website, no fragrance notes are provided; it only states "Sweet, strong, unconventional." My violet perfume from Lehmann does not have a sweet fragrance note, but it is also about 10 years old and may have been reformulated. It is a dark scent that starts off strong and green. Then, the violet notes come through a bit powdery, the scent becomes a little softer and rounder, and I can detect violet pastilles. However, the fragrance remains strong with a woody chypre note; it does not develop a sweet character on my skin. The perfume is suitable for both men and women. A very beautiful and unusual scent that you won't smell on every corner. The scent progression does not change significantly once the heart note has emerged. The violet pastilles eventually become less prominent, and a woody-green base lingers for hours.

The Scent of the 20s

Violet is, according to the website of Frau Tonis, the favorite scent of the actress and style icon Marlene Dietrich. I can completely understand this assessment: a fragrance for elegant moments at the theater, art openings, or cabarets. It brings the glamorous 20s back to life.

For me, it's just a no. I find the licorice note absolutely terrible, unfortunately it makes me feel nauseous. Not what I expected in the violet...

At first, it smells like the kids' toothpaste "Blendi" (I should have brushed more!). Then it’s more like gummy strings with raspberry flavor. Not really my thing...
