Between cacti and rain - Cactus Azul by Fueguia 1833
Cactus Azul is like a walk through a botanical greenhouse after a warm summer rain - green. Fresh, moist and exotic, without drifting into the too tropical. The fragrance starts with a surprisingly cool, almost aquatic-green note that immediately brings to mind a juicy cactus covered in morning dew. No soggy fruit cocktail like LV's Cactus Garden, no obvious floral bouquet - instead a thoughtful, almost meditative clarity.
The opening is fresh and cool - like a green leaf growing in an oasis. A subtly woody, almost mineral body then develops. I imagine I perceive aloe vera, agave and slightly resinous nuances. The base is gentle, with a soft dryness reminiscent of sand and sun-warmed wood.
As with many of Fueguia's fragrances, the longevity is very good (7-8 hours), but rather close to the skin. The sillage remains subtle - perfect for everyday wear or for moments when you want to wear the fragrance as part of your aura rather than as a statement.
