One of my first in the 80s, and today it's back on the shelf^^
A classic par excellence...! I do not know what you could do better on him ...!?
Yes, you could... its durability could be a little better. And the Orginale from back then, but the gibbet just no more.
I can buy it again and again without thinking about where and to what I spray it on, He always performs... in every season.
Today's is still ne grenade, but no longer has the class of the old! Armani has so many fragrances, I have to try there again more the older and the newer. Eau de Nuit have already, the Cedre next^^.

Armani's Class Act...
*This is a review of vintage Armani Eau pour Homme.

Armani Eau pour Homme (vintage) opens with a very clean green bitter orange and lemon tandem with a soapy herbal undertone. As the fragrance enters its early heart the lemon decouples from the quickly receding bitter orange, now joining slightly earthy nutmeg spice and mild carnation florals. The soapy herbal undertone remains from the open, now enhanced by clean vetiver and just a hint of oakmoss rising from the base. During the late dry-down the progression stays quite linear as the lemon finally fades and the soapy herbal accord couples with relatively dry sandalwood and clean musk from the base. Projection is average and longevity is below average at 5-6 hours on skin.

Eau pour Homme (vintage) is a classy clean citrus and herbs composition in the same vein of Monsieur de Givenchy and others. The best way to describe Eau pour Homme (vintage) is it generally smells like a toned down Irish Spring soap during the heart phase. Before anyone runs out to buy a bar of the soap to save some money, Eau pour Homme (vintage) is much more subtle and refined, smoothing out the brash nature of Irish Spring and adding much more complexity and sophistication with its deft use of oakmoss, clean vetiver and sandalwood in its base. The composition is rather linear and not particularly challenging; instead it is one of those fragrances easily at home in formal situations when one is in close proximity to others and a clean and pleasant smelling selection is just what the doctor ordered. The bottom line is the original formula of Eau pour Homme can still be found on the aftermarket for about $60 a 100ml bottle and is probably the best release from Armani, earning a "very good" 3.5 stars out of 5. I strongly prefer vintage Monsieur de Givenchy, but vintage Eau pour Homme is another great choice and is definitely worth a sniff at the very least.

High quality, classy, and has depth
It opens with a very natural smelling blend of citrus fruits, lavender, and cloves. Some sandalwood and oakmoss appear in the soapy dry-down.

I'm far from the biggest fan of citrus bombs, but this aromatic is high quality, classy, and has depth. You can forget about getting anywhere close to this level with cheapies such as Victor or Aqua di Selva.

This Cosmair era bottle has higher concentration and projects well for the first hour and a half, and lasts about 5 hours on my skin, which isn't great, but twice as long as I get from the last formulation.

Masculinity Level: Sharply dressed Marcello Mastroianni on hot day in Rome.

Such an understated timeless classic...
I've circled around Eau pour Homme (the new version from 2013) in the stores several times over the last couple of years, wondering whether to test it or not. My olfactory memory from the 1990's was that of a great gentleman's cologne and I was genuinely scared if this scent should be either a watered down image of it's former self or simply being too old-school and that my tastes may have changed over the years.

Fast forward to last year, where I got my hands on a vintage miniature of this great juice and it does indeed still smell fantastic. Bitter lemon peel, lavender, sandalwood, clove and oakmoss mixed in perfect balance for a masculine statement. Not loud as many other powerhouses from the 1980's, but very refined and can be worn casually as well as dressed up.

Reading the reviews of the new version, it seems to be somewhat close to the original even if IFRA regulations may have killed some of the oakmoss and replaced it with synthetics. Never the less, I find myself ready for testing the new one now - knowing that the original is still all that.

If you come across an original vintage of this holy water, do not hesitate - I doubt that you would be disappointed.

Sobriety and attractive fragrance
Armani Eau Pour Homme is a Citrus Aromatic fragrance, for men who carry memories of 1984
One of the best old school fragrances, which you won't find much around you using at the moment, you may buy it once or twice and you won't be able to keep buying it ... I think whoever carries memories of the eighties will buy it to bring back those beautiful memories

Plain and unadorned masculine elegance. Similar to dozen others of this timeless cologne type, thus nothing unexpected here, though lovely.
