An experiment
This is my first attempt to research a fragrance and write a review, where I do not have any clue about the notes. Since there are no notes stated on the page, and I do not consider myself a fullblown “nose”, I will tell what I smell. This is not the whole picture and it is not validated knowledge - just my sincere opinion about Avon’s lovely Splendour.
In the start I detect citric notes. It seems to me that there are two different ones, one is most likely bergamot and the other is sweeter… mandarin, orange… I am not sure. The citric layer lasts for 10-15 minutes. Then the scent warms up and flowers appear - and a spicy/warm note. A part of the flowery image smells like Jasmine to me, and the spicy note could very likely be sandalwood. Again I am not sure. A vanilla note appears in the end of the scent. The scent has a lifespan of three to four hours. It is close to the skin.
The bottle is a nice, tall glass vessel with a white butterfly on the neck. In my world it belongs to the romantic department. Avon has made quite a few of these bottles during their history. I can easily understand their success.
Splendour is no masterpiece but definitely a useful everyday fragrance that goes well with a lot of activities.
