Good evening, my dear fans! Did you miss me? Probably not,… I’m here almost every evening anyway, so surely no one misses me *sigh* On the contrary, maybe I’m already too much for some of you (but I DON’T want to know!!!!) *sigh again*
Today, I’m talking about Météorites by Guerlain. No, this is not some classic video game… probably the women didn’t think that anyway… but some guys might think of classic old games like Asteroids with that name (there is also the game Meteorites on the Atari 5200, but no one probably knows that). Guys like me, who then underline again that they played a lot of video games in their childhood and still play a lot of them or at least know all the titles. Useless knowledge that makes us seem even more nerdy and loser-like to women, who then somehow are even meaner to us *sigh for the third time*
Yes, yes, hey… did I already say that women can be beasts? No! I haven’t mentioned that in this comment yet, so I can heartily shout again: Women are BEEEEASTS!!! :DDD
He he, but back to the scent. It is the predecessor of the recently released Météorites Le Parfum, which I have also commented on, but I found it rather average and boring, especially for a Guerlain fragrance. However, since I unfortunately don’t remember how the 2018 scent smelled, I can’t compare the two fragrances and will therefore describe this one, as I often do, simply as an independent scent. And in case you didn’t know: The Météorites by Guerlain are not new fragrance lines, but owe their name to the similarly named powder pearl products that come from Guerlain's makeup range, which you ladies obviously knew because you are beasts! Uh, no wait, that just slipped out, I meant to say because you are much more interested in makeup than we guys (though we must sadly admit that you can really look sweet with not overly applied makeup,… *sighsigh*).
But now to the scent!
The scent:
Oh, the fragrance pyramid listed here hits the mark perfectly. You can really smell everything that is shown from the very beginning, all at once. I smell green notes that feel fresh. Then I smell beautiful, floral-sweet violets that also appear powdery, and the powdery aura is intensified by the iris. Next, I can also perceive the heliotrope, as this flower not only gives off a lovely sweet scent but also comes across quite almond-like.
The green notes quickly fade and become, in my opinion, the weakest fragrance note here. Basically, the scent remains like that, so that in the end it smells beautifully sweet, powdery, and still slightly floral. However, it is nothing special in itself, as you know enough scents like this. But anyway, it’s nice.
The sillage and longevity:
The sillage is rather weak. I think you can smell the fragrance well for a short while, but others can hardly smell it or only from up close. Therefore, the longevity seems a bit less, around four to six hours, of which the scent radiates relatively weakly for at least half of that time.
The bottle:
The bottle is round or disc-shaped and clear. A gilded, flower- or mandala-like pattern has been applied to the front and back, which can also be found on the top of the gilded cap. All in all, a beautiful bottle, but it also appears a bit old-fashioned (like a fragrance from the 80s).
So,… the scent itself is not bad. It starts off quite nicely and pleasantly, as it smells sweet and floral, and I bet it must smell very pleasant, especially on the skin of beasts… I mean women, of course :D
However, the beginning is also the greatest strength of the scent, as it soon weakens too much, and given that it already has a low sillage. This makes it somewhat less significant later on, as you can only barely perceive the scent with effort, and while it remains nice, it also smells a bit interchangeable without any real recognizability. If it were a rather cheap fragrance, I would say that you could easily wear it in spring and summer during the day for yourself or as a subtle scent at work, but I think there are much prettier and stronger fragrances from Guerlain for that price. Well, it’s just one of those scents that smell nice but that you (or women) don’t really need. So just test it out yourself if you happen to see it, as I believe the scent is no longer on the market.
That’s it for now! I wish you beasts a lovely evening :)))
PS: … what in the world are powder pearls anyway?? Do you have to crush them in a mortar first to be able to apply them or what? To me, the colorful pearls look like little candies made of grape sugar, somehow… delicious!! :DD
