A Seamless Fusion of Smoke and Raspberry

"Tabac Sahara" depicts a mesmerizing night deep in the desert. It’s an encounter between the smoky swirls of tobacco and a sensual raspberry accord.

For me, the dry, smoky impression of the tobacco perfectly captures the crisp air of the dunes and the stillness of the night. The juicy fruitiness of the raspberry adds a vibrant accent to the dry tobacco leaves, instantly evoking a "pink radiance."

It’s rare to find a fragrance where both of these strong notes coexist so powerfully. The coolness of the tobacco intertwined with the raspberry creates a deep, alluring maturity beyond mere brightness. The way the raspberry fits perfectly into the smoky gaps is where the gourmand accent truly shines. It is seductive, yet retains that signature Guerlain elegance and "refinement."

Pleasant and noir tabac/red fruits combo

Does it evoke the desert for me? Yes, it might do. I just have to remind myself that deserts aren't only interpreted through warm and spicy notes, like those of Torti's creations.
In short: the tobacco is there, pleasantly lightened by the raspberry, which adds a slight fruity freshness without becoming milkshake-like or gourmand. I don’t really recognize the raspberry itself, to be honest… I get acidity and mild sweetness from red fruits in minimal proportion. There’s no Tuscan Leather, London, Black Saffron, or similar effects, to clarify.
The notes are deep and edgy, almost as if there’s some papyrus. I expected it to be much more powerful and pervasive, but in reality, it doesn’t overwhelm the environment. It's sensual, a bit noir, unisex, and makes me want to throw it all over myself.

Few Notes, Much Development

When you hold the bottle of Tabac Sahara in your hand, anticipation for the upcoming test rises immediately. It must be said right away, the bottle is outstanding.

As for the scent. The raspberry starts off very zesty and the fruit is wonderfully noticeable at the beginning. It remains fruity for a short time and then the warm-sweet amber follows, which is already very present. I long for the tobacco, but it is unfortunately very dry and quite subtle.

The amber is unfortunately too much in the foreground for me, but I do like the raspberry. This might also contribute to the "musty" impression that some describe in their statements. After a while, it settles nicely warm on the skin.

The sillage and longevity are top-notch and the price is reasonable.

Overall, the scent is quite wearable. It fits well for leisure, dates, and clubs. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for work.
