Singularly Gorgeous
What It Is: Jean-Claude Ellena's unsweetened cardamom iced tea with a lemon wedge on a patio in Provence. Voyage opens with an absolutely stunning photorealistic cardamom note which gives way to a sunny lemon tea dry down. There's a juniper bush nearby for a bite of freshness in high heat and some amber for added richness which can power through cold weather. This is linear, timeless, noble, and unisex AF.

Who It's For: You were disappointed by the original Voyage EDT's longevity and sugary immaturity, but you loved the core DNA. You're 30+ and want one do-it-all fragrance that works in all settings, but dislike the "blue" ambroxan trend or generic florals. You like linen, good tailoring, and sunshine.

Alternatives: Voyage EDT is more sparkling with more air in the scent profile; it's closer to a fougere than the parfum (which is tighter & more linear in structure) but it's also sweeter and less grown up.

For me, this is an 11/10... the definition of excellent perfumery and a sleeper that is underrated and slept on by most of the fragrance community. With all due respect to Terre, I believe Voyage parfum is Ellena's masterpiece.

Classy, classic and a masterpiece
I really love the opening of this perfume. Fresh, elegant lemon mixed with a beautiful, very true to life cardamom note. Just so happy, smooth and effortly classy at the same time.
Later it becomes a lot more powdery, at least on my (feminine) skin. Rose and tea are main players now and the perfume's strength has dried down to a whisper.
The last stage (after about two hours) is a soft spicy, light and transparant amber, with some woods to balance any sweetness the amber might bring with it. There are also some floral notes to balance the spicy ones. I normally don't like amber scents, but the transparancy here does make it work for me. This last stage is a quiet skinscent for sure, albeit a very elegant one, but it does linger for a few more hours.

a masterpiece with performance issues
Lovely cardamom/citric fragrance.

It´s smell grown up and creamy. Best enjoyed while wearing your most elegant tenis outfit.

Do not expect nothing daring from this bottle. It offers a really nice, easy to wear and elegant summertime fragrance for men.

As most citrics, performance is below average.

Reading Poems from the Diwan at Hafez's Grave
Everything has probably already been said about "Voyage d'Hermès" - and yet today I want to write a small, very personal comment about this extraordinary perfume. My "pre-commentator" put it so aptly: "Just write that this scent is amazing."
Today, I will simply share the story I associate with it and why I am gifting it to myself this Christmas.
Normally, I do not participate in competitions, but in 2010 I read an advertisement for Voyage d'Hermès, along with a call to write a poem on the theme of "travel." Since I really like the brand and the advertising campaign spoke to me, I wrote a few lines expressing my personal associations and travel dreams.
Without thinking long, I clicked "send."
2010 was also the year the owner of Hermès passed away. Strangely enough, on the very same day as my own father. I read the short news about the death of the Hermès chief a few days after his passing in "Der Spiegel." Strange coincidence. Such things stick with you, of course.

Around the beginning of June 2010, the postman rang my doorbell and delivered a very elegantly looking package from France.
"Strange," I thought, "I haven't ordered anything...?"
The sender was the company Hermès, Paris. Could it be that I won something?
And indeed: My poem about my travel dreams had earned me a prize. 100 ml of Voyage d'Hermès in a refillable travel bottle plus a refill and a storage bag, along with a letter from Hermès... on beautiful paper in one of my favorite languages, en français.
Do I need to mention that this was the first time I won something in a competition? Yes! I must also add that I love cardamom... that the scent contains a lot of it, which is why I like it so much...
And the travel dream?
"Voyage"....
Eau de Parfum:
It is a bit less zesty than the Eau de Toilette and sweeter in the drydown. Additionally, the smaller bottle is more convenient and can be wonderfully taken on a trip.
Dreams are worth realizing. In 2019, I will do exactly what I envisioned in my poem back then. There can only be one perfume that travels: "Voyage d'Hermès."

Late Bloomer!
Why has Voyage completely passed me by? I can only explain it by the fact that it is predominantly, and completely unjustly, only found in the men's section.....or because the bottle is just not my style?! Actually, I don't let that impress me. Anyway, late bloomer, but it's really a shame that I didn't have it on my radar.

Our first encounter was all the more beautiful. I was looking for an extraordinary, sunny, fluffy, and uncomplicated scent. Okay, it's not uncomplicated. But it grabbed me. I find the composition of the fragrance notes really brilliant, dreamy, and captivating.

The opening is lemony fresh and uplifting. Over time, it develops into a woody, warm, rosy, enveloping scent and never comes off as aftershave-like. I find it clearly unisex but definitely incredibly well-suited for women. It develops on my skin completely differently than on my husband. On him, it leans more towards the super citrusy direction, while on me, it becomes creamy warm.

A feel-good fragrance like no other.
It makes me happy.

The sillage is rather mediocre, which is okay. With this scent, you don't want to stand out too much. Although I think it is quite well-received. At least I often get asked about it.
The longevity is okay at about 5-6 hours.

I believe this will be my new treasure for now. Let's see what time brings.

Imagine making an exquisite soup. When doing final seasoning, the lid comes off the pepper mill over the soup. This is Voyage d’Hermès.

Woody, spicy, less citrusy-fresh and less green than the EDT. Cardamom, lemon, tea and creamy woodsy notes.

Gorgeous creamy perfume. Spicy yet no sharp, the cardamon and pink pepper(?) are dominant laid on a smooth woody base (sandalwood?)

Clean, sexy and warm scent (not sweet). Beautiful. It gets another dimension when used with Hermes Concentre de Orange Verte.

Clean and herbal like Aveda products. Like a bare-faced horse girl on a dry Mediterranean SoCal trail. Translucent and easy, not too strong.

One of my fav takes on the "manly" fragrance DNA. Spicy juniper berry paired with sandalwood, interesting scent in an unflattering bottle.

That spiciness with the juniper berry is intoxicating to me.

Dark, heavy juniper, kept dry. A warming base of sandalwood and amber. Elegant and mature.

Cardamom and gin/tonic opening is too dry for me. Mid is not well defined. Atomizer is bloody awful and cheap. Unique scent, however.
