Simple, and Nice, But I Could Do With A Bit More Complexity
Yes, it's jasmine and cedar. Much more jasmine than cedar. But it's very well-blended IMO. It feels high-quality and it sits nicely on the skin. The jasmine is not very sweet at all, so combined with the cedar note, it actually feels like quite a dry perfume. That suits my taste but may not suit the tastes of others.
I'd see where people would be coming from when saying this is more feminine than masculine but it's still unisex and it gets nice or no reactions from people. For what more could I ask?
I suppose I'd ask for a little *more* of something. Maybe some neroli, a very light touch of musk, violet leaves, something! I'm no perfumer but I think that would make it more interesting. I acknowledge that plenty of perfumes exhibit simplicity done right, but I guess that in my experience, Hermes Cedre Sambac is just simplicity done decent. Try before buy, certainly at this price point.
