Wild Cherry

The opening of this fragrance is very sweet and reminds me of a cherry candy or tart, somewhat in the spirit of Rouge Trafalgar by Dior. Then, the scent becomes darker, more woody, more animalic, with a noticeable cedarwood presence. In my opinion, this fragrance is completely unisex. The longevity is good (I applied it 11 hours ago and can still smell it faintly). On clothes, the lasting power is incredible (I could still smell it on my clothes even after washing). The sillage is moderate.

A dark, dry, ambergris cherry

Cherry is one of my favourite notes, but this isn’t one I’d choose to buy. Ambre Rubis has quite a harsh, dry opening. It’s heavy on the ambergris, which overpowers the cherry. This scent is in the realm of Narcotic delight and Elan Noir. although it’s not as good as either of those. This is a dry, ambergris cherry. I don’t find this sweet at all. Not what I was expecting. It’s just ok. I will say this smells nothing like French Defence, which is a light, violet, floral cherry which smells like no other.

If you’re looking for a sweet cherry that smells like cherry, this isn’t for you. Instead look at Lost Cherry, Cherry on Top, Venom of Love or Vicebomb.

For a tart cherry look at Duchessa or Bodacious.

If you like the deep, dark, night time type of cherry scents like Elan Noir or Narcotic Delight, you will enjoy this.

Juicy and elegant

A truly amazing cherry fragrance, standing out among the more popular cherries, lately viral.

It opens with gorgeous bright notes: sparkling pink pepper and juicy blood orange, then slowly descending in a glass of liqueur rum with cherries on top, being enveloped in incense (not a liturgic one). The drydown presents not a warm amber, rather a dark, woody one.

I personally don't feel the jasmine listed in the notes.

Too much amber, not enough cherry

I love a good cherry scent but this smells too sweet and artificial in the opening. Gave me a headache. What follows after though is more red berries than cherry, more sour, and there is a faint whisper of incense. I like this but dislike the opening. The amber in the dry down smells synthetic and VERY irritating.

Hidden Gem Among Cherry Fragrances

Ambre Rubis is, for me, a beautiful cherry scent that stands out on various levels from alternatives on the market.

Scent experience: The fragrance starts sweet and delicious with an extravagant cherry that is immediately present. The fruitiness is supported by a juicy blood orange. Frankincense and pepper are only subtly noticeable.
After a while, Ambre Rubis shifts into a slightly woody direction with "lovely" rum, which comes across as more warm-gourmand than smoky and bitter.
In the base, you mainly get wood and amber notes, which give Ambre Rubis a rounded and gentle facet.
In my opinion, the scent remains primarily sweet-gourmand and may become a bit darker over time due to the aforementioned notes.
The fruitiness decreases during the scent's progression, although the cherry remains present for a long time and never becomes (too) overpowering.

Application and performance: Ambre Rubis is, like other gourmand scents of this kind, ideal for cooler autumn or winter days, as its warm, fruity DNA comes into full effect and does not feel "too much."
The performance is exceptionally good. Ambre Rubis easily lasts all day and is also noticeably perceptible to those around the wearer for several hours.
However, it is not a "beast" with overwhelming sillage.

The scent is definitely UNISEX.

Bottle and price: The bottle is simply and attractively designed. The deep red color gives an adequate preview of the scent experience. The price-performance ratio is truly outstanding for this quality of fragrance, paired with the high-quality bottle.

Conclusion:
Anyone looking for a delicious, deep, and sensual cherry scent must definitely try this one. For me, it is clearly one of the best cherry fragrances on the market.
