Déjà vu, but nice to see you!
A long-lasting perfume, great projections, a bulging leathery sweet version of Tom Ford's and Robert Pique leathers perfums. Perfume is for the night, party. In the office, at work, or in formal meetings, it would be too much! Not too original, but it's certainly not bad! Synthetics are the main word. There was not much wisdom and entry into oroginality, but it was built like as a safe house. In a sea of new perfumes, both modern and smashing, this is an attempt at a compromise between old school and modern perfume. If you like perfumes that don't leave you, that make you stand out with their power, a great choice!

Upgrade accepted - Leather 6.9 plays in a different league
I admit it: Leather 6 was my entry into the Schwarzlose world. Rough, smoky, slightly animalistic - already a statement. But as much as I like leather as a fragrance note, something about Leather 6 never fully - I mean 100% - grabbed me.

And then came Leather 6.9.
Holy Shit.
Same territory, different level.

The scent takes the foundation of Leather 6 but smooths it out, dresses it in a tailored suit, and hands it a drink - not from a can, but in a tumbler, on the rocks. No sweat, no dirt, no Dominastudio vibes.

Instead: Elegance with backbone.

The leather here is finer, embedded in soft woods, subtle spices, and a hint of balsam. No frills, sweetness rounds it off. Where Leather 6 provokes, 6.9 seduces. The scent comes with attitude, but without being loud. Masculine? Not really.

Leather 6.9 is for the evenings when you smell better than everyone in the room, but no one knows why.
The scent has character - without being showy. It’s grown-up - without being boring.
Leather - without the zoo.

In my world: the better Leather 6. Period.
Less sweat, more style. And still not too watered down.

If Schwarzlose wanted to show Berlin how to refine a fragrance, then they have done just that with 6.9.

My Moment with J.F. Schwarzlose Leder 6·9
I became aware of J.F. Schwarzlose through a podcast where Frank from J.F. Schwarzlose was a guest on "DerDuftDude." The episode was an entertaining tour through the Schwarzlose collection and the world of perfume. Since I was missing a great leather scent, I wanted to take a closer look at "Leder 6 / Fetisch | J.F. Schwarzlose Berlin," as well as its flanker "Leder 6·9 | J.F. Schwarzlose Berlin."

The next day, I happened to have a doctor's appointment in downtown Munich, right next to my favorite perfumery. There, before my appointment, I had both scents sprayed on me. In the waiting room, I had enough time to test and compare them, including some puzzled looks :)

Leder 6·9 starts off strong, and I found it to be a bit more voluminous, spicier, and darker from the very beginning. The leather smells quite rough to me for the first half hour and then becomes softer. This could well come from the cocoa and Davana, making the scent journey even more interesting. The leather becomes increasingly beautiful and softer over time. The saffron supports this nicely and emphasizes the spiciness and leather notes. Vanilla and patchouli complement the experience, and for me, Leder 6·9 remains seductive but also provocative with more depth and warmth.

I really liked both scents, but I found Leder 6·9 to be a bit more masculine and stronger overall, while still being very wearable and pleasing. On my right arm, where I had sprayed the "Leder 6·9" from J.F. Schwarzlose, blood was drawn shortly afterward. The MOMENT when the nurse paused briefly and reacted positively made my final decision easy - it was "Leder 6·9 | J.F. Schwarzlose Berlin."

I must admit, I had always underestimated Schwarzlose a bit or hadn’t paid much attention to it. I had seen it here and there, but never smelled it. I made up for that. I find all the scents from J.F. Schwarzlose well thought out, the history of the house fascinating, and some of the names interesting. Besides the two leather scents, I also really liked Fougair and "1A-33 (2012) | J.F. Schwarzlose Berlin."

I almost fear it won't be my last J.F. Schwarzlose. But for now, I am more than happy with my new "Leder 6·9 | J.F. Schwarzlose Berlin."

For me, it's quite linear. Leather, Davana, patchouli, and resins are on the same level. Even if the scents don't smell identical...

Saffron red leather, strong and a bit scratchy, with a hint of spice here and a touch of sweetness there. Yeah, nice. But familiar.

A truly successful scent from Schwarzlose. The leather is the main player here, accompanied by fine sweet incense.

Leder 6 without the milk accord and in a bad-boy style. Darker, smokier, leatherier! I like.

Leather 6 is high-quality and better balanced, vanilla leather, smoky notes/incense, no more milk but cocoa powder instead.

I like it better than Leather 6. Overall, it feels rounder and more refined.

Surprisingly sweet, it becomes a bit smokier over time. A small spritz on the wrist scents several rooms in the apartment. Interesting fragrance.
