Spicy Natural Fragrance
I received a sample of this rare and precious little substance from a generous perfumer.
At first, I thought, well, Edelweiss... I don’t really see myself in a dirndl... but okay, let’s give it a try.
Specifically, I don’t really detect Edelweiss; I wouldn’t even know what it’s supposed to smell like. What I do perceive is the wonderful scent of a (Bavarian?) meadow. Flowers, herbs, grasses, all beautifully intertwined. At first, it has the hint of the highest quality, sun-dried meadow hay. But the fragrance can do more. Woods join in and give the flowers and grasses a very interesting, gnarled note. In combination, it becomes really spicy (herbs?), without ever losing that natural component. Added to this is the musk that now greets me and contributes a minimal animalistic touch... wonderful!
I’m actually a fan of opulent, oriental, and often overloaded scents, but this fragrance captivates me. Natural, but without the Birkenstock attitude, spicy, without a harem tent, floral, but without old-fashioned potpourri... a master was at work here!
The sillage is satisfactory, but the longevity could be a bit better; after about five hours, my vacation in the mountains unfortunately comes to an end.
Disadvantage: Not so easy to obtain and not so easy to pay for (my info is about 360 euros for 100 ml). But for the effort, you get a fragrance that not everyone owns and with which you will certainly stand out in the most pleasant way.
