A watery eau de cologne on my skin
I've never written a neutral or negative review about a scent before. Now, this may sound a little nutty, but I'm thinking something is wrong with my bottle, or with my nose. I've blindly bought it because of the attractive reviews I've read around, almost all emphasizing its uniqueness, projection, and longevity, for instance, "...It's an overpowering and long-lasting perfume, so you'd better apply it modestly, especially during the hotter times of the year...". This morning I took a regular shower, and before dressing up, I took another shower with Jacomo for men, meaning that I sprayed generously on each hot point. Ultimately, I sprayed it from above my head really like a shower. You know what? Right after half an hour, I couldn't smell a bit, but the shower soap and clothes softener. I don't think it is gone wrong, the initial smell is fresh and delightful... perhaps a faulty batch with perfume concentration less than an EDC. Anyhow, here you are what I get. Here’s a fruitful marriage of fruity, earthy, and woody accords that results in a warm blend that’s likely mistaken for sweet. A warm and spicy fragrance, ready to bewitch and far from those disgustingly sweet and trendy scents. No edible sugar sweetness.

Pineapple is what I get the most from opening this fragrance. It’s a little syrupy and medicinal, but it’s submissive without getting cloying. Fresh and pleasant pineapple, spicy and sweet like the sliced pineapple in juice from a can, which fades into a warm and sweet coffee with a chocolate-like aroma. Citron is smooth, not sour or acid, just smooth and sweet.

I will say that the dried plum is quite alcoholic, in the same vein as Trussardi Black Extreme or Ferrari Scuderia Forte. It’s more on the sharp side than the smoky side, anyway. The notes blend so well that they produce a very soft, semi-sweet, slightly spicy aroma. The coffee note is not too heavy, which is good as coffee can sometimes drown out other notes in a fragrance. There is enough nutmeg, pepper and allspice to give it some spiciness.

A deeply resinous and clean vetiver that hints so subtly towards soapiness, along with a touch of dry woods, jumps from the base and mixes with the fruits and spices, creating a very pleasant and balanced aroma. In the dry base, tonka and amber become powdery on my skin and help the pepper and spices to balance the fruity sweetness.

I need a lot of sprays, and on my skin it lasts a few hours. I experience olfactory fatigue almost instantaneously and rather quickly. I think while I may have trouble smelling it, others around me will pick it up. It has moderate sillage and longevity, but for every day and office use it is good. Not a cologne for clubs or parties, best for a high-end bar, lounge or dinner date. Too bad, the bottle is so promising, and it tempted me to buy the more recent Oud release, but now I am a bit sceptical.

Is there anybody else like me who experienced the same? I would like to know.

I'm basing my review on a bottle I've owned since 2016 (BC 7227, PD 2007-08-15).

Shall We Remain Friends?!
Screw staying friends, that's all I have to say... okay, that's a bit harsh. But Jacomo for Men could be described as just such an unsatisfying friendship scent. Nice, but super quickly forgotten.

As a blend of Allure Homme & a bright leather fragrance, it’s a perfect everyday scent, although the combination sounds better than it actually is in the end. Or let's put it this way: the closer you are to the beginning of your personal fragrance journey, the more sensible a purchase becomes. And it’s definitely better than most new releases from 2015/16. However, the more you know, the larger your collection is, the less it really knocks you off your socks.

Cardamom, plum & leather - these are the main components that my nose perceives. Maybe even a hint of vanilla. From this, one could create a blockbuster with enormous projection, but here everything is bright, friendly, almost light. Any punch has been throttled, as if you were limiting a Ferrari to a ticket-unfriendly 130 km/h. Pleasant & maybe sensible, nice & fun is, however, something else. The older Jacomo fragrances played in a whole different league of boldness.

Bottle: simply chic
Sillage & durability: office average across the board.

Conclusion: the reliable one - and unfortunately also a bit boring. Here, Jacomo plays it safe. A bit too much. Yet the slightly sweet, underlying leather note is actually a great base!

Couch-Potato Deluxe
Couchpotatoe??
Yes, exactly. In this case, however, it is by no means meant negatively.
For me, the perfect sofa scent, or as others would say...
cuddle scent. Because that’s exactly when you don’t need a heavy hitter, but
one with a softer sillage.

Coffee, plum, chili... What a wonderful
mix!
Believe me, your loved one won’t leave your neck anytime soon ;-)
A fireplace to spray on.

Currently, it is still available online, but it is becoming increasingly rare.
The bottle is also a feast for the eyes. Heavy glass, great sprayer
and a high-quality metal cap.
A real tip for autumn/winter. I can also imagine it well
in spring...

Get it before it disappears from the market!

Wolf in Sheep's Clothing "Brain Carnival"
Yes, that's unfortunately the case, as the packaging really does not look appealing.
Shiny silver with white lettering is very simple; one would think the contents must be nothing special. But those who think the contents are just as boring are greatly mistaken.
The bottle actually doesn't match the ugly packaging. Since Jacomo Men was a blind buy for me, I was all the more delighted when I saw the bottle. It all looks elegant and heavy. The cap alone is not made of cheap plastic, and the inscription Jacomo on the side is in a classy-looking aluminum.

Jacomo Men is described as Woody Oriental, but I would rather call it Woody Oriental Phenomenal.

Just the top note - a dream!!
It reminds me of Jaguar Vision with the sharpness of Yoji Yamamoto by Yamamoto. I think this could be something, and after about 15 minutes, I encounter the heart note that accompanies me almost the entire nice rainy Saturday. NUTMEG ALERT
Not only nutmeg but also a fine hint of coffee, infused with dried plums, caresses my sense of smell.

Conclusion: Take Jaguar Vision, Yoji Yamamoto, and Givenchy Very Irrésistible, throw in a handful of nutmeg, and season with dried plums, and you get Jacomo Men.
From the following ingredients, a certain Jamie Oliver would whip up a delicious English soup, write a book about it, and make a tidy profit.

Since Leimbacher and Smello (and of course all the other users) do not yet own this fragrance, I can only say, get it for yourselves.

Is there anybody else like me who can barely smell a thing after 10 minutes? Too bad, so damn good yet it disappears in the blink of an eye!

After an amazing fresh-spicy top note, it becomes fruity and sweet towards the end. It's really good.

By far the best top note I've ever smelled, but unfortunately, not much follows.
It's heartbreaking.
