The vintage and new versions are not the same!
I recently found at a Paris clear market a small bottle of the vintage Parfum, pale gold in color and in the old square bottle. This is in the grande dame of perfume category- balanced orange blossom, lots of carnation, and a nice spice note. Powdery and sweet, like the lilting of Hawthorn, but not overly so, and with excellent balance. The base is amber-vanillin atop a restrained wood, With no sand or sea notes, at least in the modern sense.

This is an excellent interpretation of "carnation". Seek out the vintage version!

1980s Tacky Beach Style
Based on the listed notes Ombre Bleue should be a bottled walk-on-the-beach scent. In reality, it is dated, dusty, artificial (at least in its opening) and plain ol’ odd. Sounds off-putting, right? Well, this is actually enjoyable.

Ombre Bleue opens with a sharp, artificial blast of jasmine. It’s not very appealing, particularly since the color of the juice is vividly blue, recalling some type of room spray. I fought the urge to scrub this room deodorizer from my wrists. For having survived the first five minutes of this I was treated to a cozy mix of dewy carnations and jasmine, sweet and salty fruits, and powder. Or, imagine Ombre Rose and Lilly Pulitzer’s Beachy had a love child. It’s a strange mix but it works.

The words ‘cozy’ and ‘hot weather-appropriate’ seem mutually exclusive with respect to fragrances. Ombre Bleue is proof that hot weather-appropriate scents can, in fact, be cozy without being cloying.

Woody Honey smells delicious!
I found this gem in my fragrance sample box. At first, you smell the scent of dried fruits wrapped in lily blossoms. Only very gently does the lily of the valley pass by... The garden carnation spices up this composition excellently! Luckily, the orange blossom is not very strong here...
Then it lingers for a long time with the delicious scent of honey spread on a piece of cedar wood, which is then dusted with vanilla...
A poem!
I absolutely need to get more of this fine "stuff" :-)
Fragrant greetings

Modern nonchalance for spring? No, my nose is playing tricks on me again!
I bought Ombre bleue based on the great comment from Angelliese. Because I also belong to the honey lovers!
I can perceive the honey well, but it doesn't push itself to the forefront. Fruity? No, I can't say that. Floral-powdery, warm, and yet spring-like - is my first impression. I can't identify individual flowers, though. Or is a little jasmine coming through now?
And it reminds me of something... yes, just a tiny bit of "Nonchalance"! Although there is zero honey in that one, Ombre bleu lacks the slightly lemony note in the top.
But spraying a little "Nonchalance" on my wrist...
Oh no, that was just a figment of my imagination due to the "blue appearance" of both perfumes! Although there are indeed a few overlaps in the fragrance pyramid (orange blossom, vanilla, jasmine).
Ombre bleu is distinctly warmer, more balsamic, and spicier than "Nonchalance," and yet I can imagine it better for spring than for autumn, while Nonchalance is a typical winter scent for me.

Blooms
nanu, no violets in here? I imagined I could smell plenty of those little blue flowers

Fruits, spices, and many blooms are competing in scent here.
However, it is a bit sweeter than what I am used to from Ombre.
Yes, that's the honey.

My scent as a teenager in the early 90s. Unfortunately, it smells different now. Not unpleasant, but it's not what I used to wear...

First minute: burnt cable in a chemical plant. Then a longer, but barely noticeable white flower scent. Leaves me perplexed.

Interestingly reminds me of older men's fragrances that were clove-heavy, with the resin, green, and maritime notes contributing to that.

Aquatic mixed with clove, that's something new. If dosed carefully, it creates a lovely scent veil. I found it beautifully "different."

If you like the so-called "ocean accord," you'll find garden cloves here, with the sea breeze just wafting over. (New version)

Aquatic, ozonic Calone nightmare for my nose. Everything I can't stand about the so-called sea accord. Sorry if I offend anyone!

Barely noticeable, not so harmonious scent. The reviews here promised me more. What a pity....
