A perfume by Jean-Charles Brosseau for men, released in 2005. The scent is fresh-woody. It is still in production.

Without Ge-Zeder

A fragrance that has so many quite different ingredients quickly runs the risk of being completely overloaded and smelling indistinct - especially when it comes to a seemingly fresher creation.

What comes through is a mix of warm-spicy and rather fresh-woody notes. Although the fruity notes are more or less in the foreground, they only emerge significantly later, even if they cannot be directly recognized or categorized.

Accordingly, Atlas Cedar makes it a bit difficult to orient oneself. It is primarily the spicier nuances like cardamom, nutmeg, and cinnamon that can be olfactorily crystallized more clearly. Additionally, from the very beginning, there is a slightly harsh approach that tends a bit towards fig/coconut and gradually develops further into an unsweetened shower gel with a pleasantly deeper oak moss character.

A touch more projection and longevity would certainly not have harmed Atlas Cedar, as it unfortunately fades quickly from the nose and memory. However, it is still far more appealing than many mainstream releases of recent years.

The only question that remains is why there is no cedar, let alone Atlas cedar, to be found in Atlas Cedar? Strange!

Sickroom from Childhood Days
Do you know that feeling? You test a perfume, catch various components, take notes, and then eventually glance at the fragrance pyramid, only to realize that you've actually detected some ingredients - just in completely the wrong order! With "Atlas Cedar," the base already resonates as the "Ouverture," the top notes drift into the heart, and the heart notes hardly make an appearance.

Right after spraying, a warm, spicy, dark forest note wafts towards me, not a Northern European scent, but a fresh, Mediterranean wood. Very beautiful, intense, and promising. After ten minutes, I hardly recognize the fragrance. The base bouquet is dominated by the fruity top notes, a true fruit cocktail, sweet and with hints of classic fruit tea. And fruit tea, unfortunately, does not work at all! Not only because I'm not really a tea fan, but mainly because I associate fruit tea with the stuffy bedridden days of my childhood - a scent that has burned deeply into my memory, and one I avoid smelling since I can choose what I drink when I'm sick.

Only after a few hours can I leave my bed in the children's room and enjoy "Atlas Cedar" again. The fragrance becomes darker, occasionally slightly powdery, but also warmer and more sandalwood-like. The forest notes of the Ouverture return. After more than twelve hours, they fade away unobtrusively and gently... Quite nice!

If the fruit tea heart doesn't put you off, then it's worth a test. Sillage and longevity are certainly not an obstacle. The purchase price is definitely not either. And maybe your pyramid isn't upside down...

Elegant Wood Paneling
Apparently, I am the only one in this forum who has this fragrance in their collection.
So let me share my thoughts.

Atlas Cedar is a not too loud, rather classic, slightly rugged cedar scent.
I wear this fragrance mainly to work or when we go out to eat.

The top note is pleasantly fresh, but not too citrusy. The cedar can already be sensed.

In the heart note, I find the spiciness very pleasant, and it is slightly softened by the jasmine. The cedar accord is already quite noticeable.

The base note is pleasant and only slightly sweet. The scent does not come off as intrusive or unpleasant even now.

The longevity is okay. However, you need to get closer if you want to perceive the fragrance.

Although Brosseau's fragrances are not very widespread, this scent is not unusual. It fits effortlessly into the lineup of many classic men's fragrances.

Slightly old-fashioned and mature green-herb-spicy scent with a distinctive cedar and oakmoss note. Later with vetiver. Quite nice in the end.

After a fruity start, the spices take over. Sandalwood and a slightly earthy note in the base. 80s vibe. :-)

At first a bit harsh on the nose, but it becomes more pleasant and softer over time. S/D is just okay.

A lovely rhubarb note is followed by spicy jasmine and finally a woody-animalic base. A must-try for vintage lovers.

Reminds me of a scratchy turtleneck on bare skin: uncomfortable, harsh, intrusive, and a lot of goosebumps. Get rid of it!

Sour rhubarb + aquatic mandarin dominate the other fougère notes of a bitter-classic men's fragrance for me.
