Like Manmade Snow

Jill Sander's PURE is fresh, clean, and linear. The musk is not very musky, and while living up to its name, there is no soapiness here at all. PURE has an almost zenlike neutrality and inoffensiveness that may appeal to those seeking a fragrance that is unflowery, unspicy, and unsweet; something very clean but altogether devoid of aldehydes.

I am reminded vaguely of Calvin Klein's TRUTH, which has its own unique identity and imparts an equal sense of calm control, even equanimity. The main difference to my nose is that in PURE a limpid musk replaces the equally limpid bamboo so central to TRUTH.

Some may find such fragrances clean in a sterile, synthetic sort of way--like a well-maintained glass and chrome skyscraper. But I like them on certain days. They remind me a bit of man-made snow.

My Staple Fragrance

As the title suggests, I have had it for years and keep repurchasing it.
I believe it doesn't suit every woman.
Fortunately, my skin chemistry allows me to perceive it well, as do the people around me.
So far, I've only heard positive feedback about it. You simply cannot overdose on it.
I find it a bit herbaceous and zesty, but softer in the dry down.
It holds well on clothes for me. If I just wear a shirt briefly and spray it, but it ends up back in the closet after 3 hours, it definitely smells good again when I put it on.
I find this perfume unusual and unique. For ME personally, it has a high recognition value. The name says it all. I like. :)

a pure life for a pure woman

It’s just like that.
There’s nothing to argue about.

Pure by Jil Sander is pure. Pure joy. Clean and unclouded. Cheerful and bright. Light Blue lovers might find a candidate here that outshines Light Blue with its longevity and gets benched early.

Light Blue was also a candidate for me due to the scent type, but not with this longevity. Pure is the perfect alternative. But beware, its endurance is best showcased on clothing. I can smell it for 12 hours on my cotton handkerchief. It’s a constant companion.. especially in summer, I imagine it to be fantastic.. citrusy with great longevity. As for the sillage, I unfortunately have to agree with my predecessors. On the skin, it’s almost nonexistent. Sillage only develops on clothing.. but it should be at least 5 sprays.

For me, it still deserves a place in my collection.. a no. larger :-D

Beautiful Well-Being in Everyday Life

Pure is a lovely, fresh everyday fragrance. It is not an overly strong, attention-grabbing scent, but it creates a pleasant feeling of "fragrant-freshly-showered" with an additional nuance of "lovely-sympathetic." Simply perfect for enhancing, for example, your workday or an afternoon in the city!

a ? among the bad fragrance wearers like me...

I have to test this scent again and again because it actually appeals to me, or rather, it would appeal to me. When I ask a woman, "What are you wearing?" and she says "Pure by Jil Sander," I think "Yes, I have to have that." - Not at all, once again it shows that I am probably different.
It unfolds strangely on me; I smell some musk, which isn't even pleasant, and occasionally a hint of what it probably really is comes through, but that is so brief that I wonder how others would perceive it. However, I need to be able to sniff and like a fragrance myself (at least at the beginning).

Therefore: Unfortunately, I can't rate this fragrance; I'm just pointing it out for all those who might also have such a different strange skin chemistry (I am certainly quoting the "blauemaus" here, but I believe she sometimes feels similar to me).
I struggle to find a fragrance that smells good on me; I wish Pure were one of them. It's currently on a great offer at Karstadt; I tried it again, but no chance, nothing unfolds on me that would be pleasant. - If anyone else feels the same way, feel free to write what works for you. (For me, luckily, it's the new Eve :-) as well as Style by Jil Sander, at least something)

- I envy you Pure wearers a little.
