Tart berries for summer
I don't know what happened with my nose and this one. I tried it a few times from a store tester and loved it, especially the drydown which came across as gorgeously creamy and summery on my skin.
Then I got a bottle and fell out of love, which is extremely unusual for me. I tested it in different weather conditions, on my arm and as a full wearing, but Sun Pop Arty Pink is never as good as when I first tried it. I find the redcurrant and lemon rather sour and weirdly sticky, and sadly, the creaminess of the drydown can't stand up to the sourness. On the plus side, the redcurrant is identifiable and doesn't just smell like a random berry. The florals are nice, they have a bit of a sunscreen vibe due to the tiare, but they don't give me those lovely wafts that I got from the store tester. The vanilla is very subtle, not strong enough to warm up the scent. Texturally this has a bit of that spicy-powdery Jil Sander DNA, which I enjoy.
Maybe this gets better when it stands in a warm perfume store for months and years, it's honestly the most likely explanation. Unfortunately I don't have time for that. It's nice the way it is, just nothing I really need in my life, an unenthusiastic like. It might be perfect if you like your fruity summer scents really tart, but I prefer them sweeter. I passed this on.
