Fantastic for the price!

White Musk is by far one of my best fragrances. What a pleasant surprise.
I liked it from first spritz. It's such a bright, flirty, warm, happy scent. Spicy, but more on the fresh side. I'd say it's good for any occasion and season, work, dinner out, cozy winter nights with blankets and hot cocoa, an outdoor hike.
"Good for anything" normally means boring and non-outstandig in my book, but not this time. The combination of wamth and freshness, softness and extroversion does the trick. It's not like anything else in my wardrobe.
It's quite linear to me until the last part of the drydown, but for once I don't mind that. It's so good all the way through.
The sillage is big for a cologne concentrate - actually it's big regardless of the concentration as I have a general problem with sillage. Only few perfumes project well on me.
Longevity is good too, 8 hours at least.
And the price is even better. It's unvelievable that such a good fragrance is available at such a ridiculous price!
All in all I can't think of one negative thing to say about White Musk. It's a real mood-lifter!

97/100 people will like it. Sadly for 3 of us...

This is one of those skin chemistry dilemmas. 97 out of a 100 reviews say this is soft, powdery, and feminine. Lovely. To me, and the sad 3 left out, this is as feminine as breastmilk gone sour on a baby's onesie. There's this curdled milk, baby vomit smell that's sickly sweet, yet sour, that makes me feel like barfing.

Which is a shame because 1hour later, it settles into an inoffensive soft powder. But that beginning... Whew. I'm sorry I'm losing out on what other people are getting so easily, so simply. But just leaving this review here, in case you're one of the unfortunate 3people who smell this and want to run out of the room before she blows. Yeah, right here with you.

Oriental noses that crave heavy, spicy, sweet, oudy, (frankincense) smoky, leathery, tobacco-like, vanillic, patchouli - in short: loud scents, hold "clean-fresh" as ONE category. We clean-fresh noses know, of course, that there are glaring differences here and can be woken up at three in the morning and, half-asleep, list numerous categories with even more subcategories. Clean scents? So like freshly showered? Or freshly washed? So with shower gel or rather with soap? That smells different already. Or rather creamy? Like face cream? Or hand cream? Or maybe Nivea? There are heavenly differences here. I won't even start on sunscreen. Powder scent? Do you mean more like baby powder or like makeup powder? Totally different. Fresh laundry? More like laundry detergent or like fabric softener? You really have to distinguish. And then more like freshly washed laundry outside on the line or like a laundry room? Yes, yes, that does smell different. Musk? More fluffy? Or soapy? Sweet? Or rather animalistic? Skin scent? That needs to be more precise. Warm? Or not? And the fresh scents first. Preferably lemony? Bergamot? Or more like verbena? Hesperidic? Or maybe green? Watery? Or minty? Softer with tea perhaps? And if so, preferably green tea or white? Or in the end, the dreaded aquatic freshness? Cucumber-like would work too. Or something completely different, floral freshness. Yes, yes, that exists too.

And Jovan "White Musk" clearly belongs in the category "Soap." Soapy soap. The scent of a piece of clean soap. And the scent of being washed with soap. White, clean, well-groomed, soapy. Deeply pure, dry floral, restrained, thoroughly unerotic. The purity, innocence, and cool-headedness in person. Not distant, rather patent competent and benevolent. In a strange way, this scent also radiates a certain warmth and affection; it reminds me of a protective, trustworthy person in the background who catches me in difficult situations and loves me unconditionally. Incredible what associations the scent of soap triggers in me.

According to its own statements, Jovan was inspired by the white mallow for this perfume and consequently created a very white, clean, floral scent. The word mallow comes from the Greek malakos, meaning soft and soothing. It refers to the irritant-relieving, protective properties of the plant. Well then, my associations are not completely crazy after all.

The namesake musk in this perfume is therefore not a sweet, fluffy one, but a soapy, clean one. Those looking for a lovely-sweet-fine musk cloud are in the wrong place. Off to the Body Shop. This here is spray soap, after using which you definitely want to put on the freshest and whitest shirt in the closet. Oh no, best to wear the entire wardrobe in white and then head to the sun to a warm holiday destination, the North Sea in summer, for example. I bet with White Musk you won't even sweat; your skin just stays dry from all the soap. I’ll try that out. I somehow find it good.

like a virgin to the child...

... I came to this fragrance.

Since my friend lives around the corner from Rossi, I asked her to bring me Anna Sui for an incredible 9.99, as this fragrance has accompanied me for many years and I have already repurchased it online at inflated prices.

I repeated my fragrance wish slowly and clearly several times - but today, - I was in cheerful anticipation - she presented me with Jovan White Musk.
I was astonished, as I couldn't find any resemblance in the name, no matter how hard I tried.

Well, it is what it is; one must celebrate the festivities as they come - and I do like the Jovan Oil as well.

And White Musk does its job well.
It has nothing to do with the fruity Anna Sui - much more with the Jovan Oil I know.
Musk is the dominant note in both fragrances.
However, White is drier and less creamy than the original.
The honeysuckle also adds a stricter bitterness, which does not harm the fragrance.
Elegance is the theme here - emphasized by jasmine.

The Oil leans more towards the sensually erotic direction - while white musk goes for the clean elegance.

I am not too sad about this mix-up, especially since my friend quickly declared this "surprise" as a gift.

Unexpected things often happen.

Sexy Purity

A few years ago, I brought back a hand soap from Nesti Dante in the scent of Muschio Bianco from Macesine at Lake Garda. I still haven't used that hand soap to this day.
It sits in my bathroom, and every time I walk by, I pick it up and sniff it to evoke some vacation memories ;)
The scent is simply unique and so clean. You just want to roll in it.
Unfortunately, I have never found a matching perfume for it until now.

By chance, I was at Rossmann a while ago and stumbled upon the perfume shelf.
I had received the original Jovan scent as a gift some time ago and only knew that one.
From the shelf, the lighter bottle with the beautiful flower smiled at me.
I thought to myself, testing never hurts, since I can also smell the original well :)

Once sprayed, I was back at Lake Garda, lying on soft sheets that smell heavenly creamy and floral. The floor-to-ceiling window is open, and a gentle breeze sweeps in; it’s warm, but the scent of the sheets leaves me with a fresh feeling.

Conclusion: Bought the scent without hesitation.

I have NEVER come across such a pure scent.
It is pure, clean, virginal, and fresh, and in its own way, sexy.

Musk clearly dominates here, which I also really like, and it gently cradles Ylang-Ylang and Jasmine on a soft cloth.

The price-performance ratio is unmatched here, as it is truly a bargain for 8 euros! :)
If I use 4 sprays, I can easily get through the day and still perceive a fresh, clean scent after several hours.
I find the scent particularly pleasant in summer because it is fresh and not overpowering.

Definitely built on a layer of white musks, but primarily Ethylene Brassylate. Uplifting, slightly vanillic with a gorgeous clean scent.

Smells exactly like white Dove bar soap for the first half hour or so and then dries down to a clean, cold musk. Little to no sillage

Reminds me of much more expensive fragrances like Puredistances White: a powerful, powdery, and creamy musk with hints of white flowers: I like it!

Wonderful fine, creamy musk + delicate flowers with a light sweetness. Super elegant, absolutely heavenly! HBK is good. I would pay five times for this.
