Floral hairspray and grape flavoring
Juicy Couture as a brand is a bit hit or miss for me. They churn out some really basic fruity florals and samey VLJ flankers, but they also have some gems in their lineup. I thought Couture Couture would be one of them because it has been around for so long and the notes sound good, but now that I tried it, I have to admit that I don't find it very special. I suspect I perceive it differently than the people who love it, which is a bit of a pity.
To me this starts out with sharp white florals that have an unfortunate hairspray-like undertone to them. I had the same problem with Avon Rare Amethyst, which has 10 votes as similar at the moment, so I think if you like one of them, you will likely not hate the other. The pink grape note is definitely very noticeable, but it's more akin to grape flavored candy/soda than real grapes. After the drydown the hairspray-esque notes finally cool off and the scent turns into a pleasantly clean, floral amber.
Around the web this gets compared to many other fragrances, so I want to add that I don't find it similar to Pleats Please, Alien or any 90s/retro/"mature" florals. Honestly, I wish I did.
