Ephemeral rose and velvety orris

According to Fragrancenet, Viva La Juicy Rosé has notes of Italian mandarin, jasmine petal, William pear, rose centifolia, jasmine sambac, white peony, orris absolute, ambroxan, and benzoin. VLJ Rosé is a very pretty, soft, airy, and feminine rose, orris, peony, and jasmine fragrance with soft fruity touches. Although apple isn’t listed, I pick up a lovely crisp apple note that goes perfectly with the creamy, velvety orris, and creamy, soft rose, jasmine, and peony. The apple, pear, and mandarin add a gentle sweet and fruity freshness to the fragrance.

VLJ Rosé is very delicate and ephemeral. The scent and fleeting nature of VLJ Rosé makes me think of the pink auras and delicate, swirling clouds of rose petals that surrounds pretty girls in the shoujo mangas I used to read as a little girl. It only lasts for around 2.5 hours, even with heavy application. It’s perfect year round, but I adore it in the spring.

I love the sparkly pink bottle with the gradient so much, but that’s not the bottle I had. I had one of the plain glass bottles with the sticker design that used to be sold at Macy’s. It still came with the signature VLJ diamond cap and pretty pink bow though! I definitely want to purchase this perfume again. It’s so lovely!

I seem to get really annoyed with fragrances that put the word "rose" in their title, leading people to believe that the rose note is going to be pronounced (I'm lookin' at you Lancome Midnight Rose!) This fragrance is no exception.

I can not smell the rose in this. As far as I'm concerned, the rose is missing in action, leading me to ask the question, what's the point of putting the word on the box in such large font?

This scent is shampoo-y, sparkling, effervescent, citrus-y, floral and a tad sharp. I don't care for it but it's not terrible. It's pleasant enough but it doesn't do anything for me. It's boring. I like a punch-you-in-the-face rose. I don't know how anyone can possibly smell the rose in this when it's so hidden in a menagerie of florals and fruit.

My sister is getting my bottle as I know she will love it so at least someone will enjoy it. Speaking of the "bottle", it's cute. Very flashy and girlie. A lot of people think the bottles are tacky but I actually like them. They're bling-y and fun!

Out of the ones I've tested so far from this line, Viva La Juicy Gold Couture remains the only one that I love and can't live without and I can't see that changing anytime soon.

Like it on the second sniff

I admit, the sweet bottle caught my attention first. When I then looked it up and saw that a sweet opening and a white peony in the heart awaited me, I was convinced. So I bought it blind.

Yesterday the good piece arrived, and I was very irritated by the first spray. Completely different from what I had imagined. I couldn't grasp it. Somehow a mix of old flowers or grandma's pink soap.
Didn’t like it. I wore it throughout the day, and my impression didn’t improve.

Today the second attempt. And what can I say. It wasn't love, but I like it on the second spray!

This fragrance is a good example that second chances can sometimes be good.
Today I feel comfortable with the scent.
It smelled sweet at the opening and then transitioned into floral, soft, and somehow clean. However, I still don’t like the dry down.

Not 100% my scent, but an interesting experience.

Small Bottle - Big Peony

Yesterday, while "passing by," I bought the cute little bottle with the adorable bow - and I expected a small rose.
Not at all.

On the cool pear and bright jasmine, a peony bush is emerging, bringing a distinct sweetness.
Although the scent remains transparent due to the mandarin, it has an incredible longevity.
In the current heat, it feels almost too "clingy" for me, but in more bearable temperatures, I might appreciate this loyalty.
The benzoin - ambroxan dry down could be less synthetic, as it disrupts the rosy main theme.
I also feel reminded of Especially Escada, but that one stays in a harmonious line from start to finish.

Juicy Rose starts off well and has an even better middle - but unfortunately offers no happy ending.

The scent is just as girly as the bottle. Rosy-fruity, fresh, lightly sweetened. Just a nice fragrance.

Not as sweet as the other Juicy's. Delicious pears and then it turns rosy, a bit soapy and fresh. Perfect for spring. H&S are good.

Lovely, delicious & fruity. The prominent Williams pear makes the scent very sweet, but it doesn't come off as cheap. The bottle is cute!

Compared to the other Juicy's, this one is quite mild and less sweet. The rose note comes through well only at the beginning. Sillage and longevity are okay.
