Fruity sorbet
First of all, the bottle is hard to beat for cuteness. I do not even know where to start: at the fluffy feather fluffy with the rose plus satin bow, the iridescent glass that looks like pure glitter icing or the (this time a little different) JC emblem that adorns the front in pale pink enamel and with small, pink rhinestones?
The bottle has what - despite (or perhaps because of) Barbie-esque overkill.
The fragrance shines in time-honored Juicy manner with fruity top notes. He has in the top and also in the heart note absolutely what of fruit sorbet, which I find great, because on the dessert train I jump as a classic sweet tooth at any time gladly on.
I may not be one hundred percent clear on the theme of this fragrance. Is it now about ice cream, sorbet, icing or is Glacé simply a wild fusion of everything? Because looking at the English-German dictionary, glacé (with French spelling) means something like "candied" or "with icing", whereas glacé in French means "frozen".
I lean more towards the sweet cold treat than the frosting. In fact, because of the vanilla that arrives later, it has a bit of a dessert feel to it. It's also a bit sweeter than the original Viva La Juicy, and the reduced floral components, which were much more present in the original, almost take it in the gourmand direction... But only almost. In the drydown it has something slightly tart, which makes a nice contrast to all the sweet components.
The fragrance is nice and good, if there were not the relatively weak durability. The fragrance evaporates completely after about 2 hours. This performance would be just about acceptable for an eau de toilette, but not for an eau de parfum! Contrary to the cool theme of the fragrance, this progression is definitely not cool. If I want something longer lasting, I rather reach for the original, Gold Couture or Noir.
I see this version of Viva La Juicy as a sweeter, iced version of the original Viva La Juicy. Somehow, to me, "she" is the bubbly little sister who is cute but doesn't show much commitment in everyday life and also has rough edges. (Oh, I've tracked down the scent equivalent of myself, how weird is that?)
In my opinion, this is one of the most interesting flankers in the Viva La Juicy lineup. I forgive the weak performance because I like the scent so much. Is ok, then just must be replenished more often.
I already know that Glacé will be one of my favorites for the spring.
