Why didn't you say no
Love Dont be Shy Amber and Oud Special Blend was more than a difficult birth. In June 2022, I was allowed to test it in a Kilian store in Dubai. I was extremely excited when the saleswoman said that this would probably be the last collaboration with the Arabian market. Normally, I always go straight for such information, but although I was already in the perfume game at the time, the fragrance overwhelmed me. I liked it, but I probably just wasn't ready for it yet. I opted for a different perfume in Dubai and forgot about this one.
Until I found out that my parents wanted to fly to Dubai again in April 2024. I saw my chance and made my mother an overview of 4 fragrances (on an A4 sheet, with name, manufacturer and directions to where she could find the fragrances in Dubai) and asked her to bring me one of them. Kilian was also on this list, knowing full well that it was already a thing of the past and could probably no longer be found.
So my mother couldn't find it or any of the other three fragrances. She and my father each bought a perfume in Duty Free on the return flight and because the sales clerk was so nice, my mother dared to try one last time and held my note under her nose. According to my mother, the saleswoman then disappeared and returned 10 minutes later with a dusty but completely intact Kilian. And so he became my property. Because now I was ready for him.
The Special Blend is a wonderful combination of a beautiful rose lying on a cozy amber bed. Marshmallows and oud also roll on this bed, joined in a passionate, slightly dirty but also graceful affair. They lie under an orange blossom blanket with vanilla ornaments and enjoy the sweet but also wild night. The fragrance doesn't go through a gradient, the components are all beautifully interwoven but also easily perceptible. And they are there immediately.
Love Dont be Shy Special Blend is feminine, sensual and seductive. An absolute plank but if you dose it well, it is attractive and exciting without being on the 12 I don't know the original by Kilian, but unlike the Special Blend, I think it smells like a stable and secure relationship instead of a dirty affair.
As you would expect, the fragrance lasts a wonderfully long time. I am a little disappointed with the bottle, I would have liked it to be a little more upmarket. I can't judge the price-performance ratio. According to my parents, it was very expensive but they didn't want to give me an exact amount.
