One of the worst things I have ever smelled
This has nothing to do with my beloved Love, Don't Be Shy. It's a very harsh, barnyardy oud scent that greets you with a blast of cow manure in the opening. There is a bit of woodsiness and the tiniest hint of rose looming underneath it, but the oud is so strong and fecal. If you like rose & oud scents in the vein of Oud Bouquet or Oud Satin Mood and hoped for a mix of that with the marshmallow and orange blossom DNA of LDBS, this will likely not be to your taste.
Of course it gets a little less terrible after it has dried down. At some point there is a hint of orange blossom to be detected, and on the next day it smells okay, like a classic amber scent with an animalic undertone, spicy and fizzy-sweet. But who wants to wait for that for a whole day?
This is long lasting and intense, hard to scrub off, but luckily it doesn't have an overwhelmingly strong sillage.
I usually test any fragrance I review at least 3 times, but with this one, twice is more than enough. Life is too short to surround yourself with perfume you hate. And if you look at my profile, I don't hate a lot of fragrances, so this is saying something.
Maybe some seasoned oud connoisseurs will like this, I don't know. This is a taste that I don't need to acquire.
PS: After I wrote this review I scrubbed the fragrance of. While I did that could smell a little bit of the sweet white floral notes of LDBS, but I still stand by my point that the awful oud note overpowers everything in this.
