One Of The More Overlooked 80s Powerhouses...
Moods Uomo opens with a nose tingling blast of carnation floral-laced aldehydes, coupling with spicy ginger and earthy patchouli over hints of the relatively smooth woody leather to come. As the fragrance enters the early heart phase the dark woody leather accord takes center stage with the ginger and patchouli hanging around in key support. During the late dry-down the leather accord softens as the fragrance turns just slightly sweet derived primarily from the use of tonka bean at its base. Projection is above average and longevity is good at 8-10 hours on skin.

While there is no woody accord listed in the official fragrance composition notes, I definitely get plenty of cedar in it. To my nose the primary drivers of the fragrance development once you get past the open are cedarwood, leather, ginger and patchouli. The closest fragrance that comes to mind is one of my all-time favorites, Giorgio VIP for Men by Giorgio Beverly Hills. That said, Moods Uomo is definitely no clone, instead featuring a much more woody focus than the Giorgio. The slightly rough heavy leather heart phase can be just a bit much at times, but the aggressive (but oh so nice smelling) ginger spice-laced carnation floral open and the smooth slightly sweet leather finish more than make up for it on the whole. The bottom line is the long-since discontinued but still relatively inexpensive Moods Uomo may not equal the creme de la creme of the 80s powerhouse crop, but it smells better than most and is well worth one's attention if you come across it, earning a "very good" to "excellent" 3.5 to 4 star out of 5 rating.

Gets no respect
Any time fragrances from the 1980's are mentioned Moods by Krizia is never mentioned. To me that's criminal because this Fragrance is a true work of art. Yes, that's right, I said a work of art! I just love it and it's much friendlier than the other one from Krizia called Krizia Uomo. That's strange too because I love green fragrances but for some reason Krizia Uomo just doesn't work for me. Anyway the one called Moods is a beautiful scent with many different notes but it's very well blended and it behaves like you'd expect a late 1980s Fragrance would. To me the smell of the scent is almost a perfect 10 and not many fragrances are similar. On another note, not only is this Fragrance overlooked it's also discontinued!! I can't think of any solid reason why Krizia decided to pull the plug but I guess I'm not supposed too. It seems like the good ones always get the ax while the designer market continues to be flooded with garbage. Ah corporate America!

Leather and wood
A very pleasant men's perfume. It opens with pleasant sweet floral aromas. They are quickly replaced by leather and wood, which do not go away until the end of the sound. This scent, in my opinion, is suitable for spring, winter and autumn, when the streets are quite cool. Honestly, this is the first time this has happened to me when I took 3 perfumes for review, and all 3 perfumes turned out to be not typical men's perfumes

Is this the best fragrance in the world?
I have no idea what possessed me to finally embark on a reviewer career on Parfumo after about 15 years of quietly reading along, especially in these times.
Be that as it may, it must have its logic.

And since I'm already daring to step out of the shadows, I want to do so with a bang, triggered by the sensational title of this debut post.
Despite all the childishness that resonates in this question, it is clear that the author must have a special relationship with this rather unknown perfume.
This is certainly partly due to the fact that Moods by Krizia was the first fragrance I could call my own. For Christmas in 1989 or '90, our fragrance-loving mother selflessly gifted my brother and me an EdT that suited each of our personalities. Her choice hit the mark with Drakkar Noir for him and Moods for me.
What I smelled there struck a chord within me from the very first moment: a rich-luxurious, harmonious accord dominated by patchouli, which, as far as I remember, has not changed much over time and evokes the strange word creation "hollow-gurgling" in me. The fragrance radiates both gentleness/security and elegance, feels more oily than airy, and inspires less activity than a desire to unwind and enjoy being. The wearer doesn't have to be a sports hater, but he knows how to approach certain moments (casual to not too festive) with style and can also let his gaze nostalgically or with a broader perspective drift into the past.

I am not aware of any clone or even another fragrance that reminds me of Moods by Krizia (perhaps Givenchy Gentleman is a distant comparison). It might not be entirely contemporary today, but in my opinion, it certainly has the potential to be a classic. I could even imagine that its typical accord, perhaps slightly modernized, could become a bestseller among the clientele over 40, similar to TdH's successful combination of cedar and vetiver. But that probably applies to many a deceased old-school fragrance.
I have given up ordering Moods Uomo online after receiving a tipped or even manipulated bottle twice. Well, someday it will cross my path again and put me "in the mood" once more...

The Perfect Contrasts...
were once again brought together in this 80s fragrance, just like many of its peers. This scent is at the same time...

... strong and also a bit macho, but at the same time soft and gentle,

... spicy and also sweet, without coming across as synthetic in the slightest,

... long-lasting, without overwhelming with excessive sillage.

In light of the fact that I am slowly but surely providing a kind of "running gag" due to my now well-known preferences: YES, BACK THEN FRAGRANCES WERE STILL MADE!!!

Damn, this is good. Probably also and foremost because it moves beyond any trends.

I last consciously smelled this fragrance in the early 90s, and today, after more than 20 years of absence, I am overwhelmed by the feeling of being "home" again. Some here will surely understand this.

Another gem from my cycle "Powerhouse Fragrances of the 80s, preferably from Italy"; more will surely follow...

One of the great hits of the late 80s. Fantastic! Outshines many modern scents by far! The good old days are still alive here!

I had it many years ago. My memory: herbal spicy witch brew, inhale deeply and all ailments are gone. It was too strong for me.

Warmer woody-mossy scent with a successful bitter note. It's a shame they discontinued it.

Why would you create such a beautiful scent? Very masculine, perfect gentleman's fragrance. Spicy, green with good longevity and sillage.
