Curry Cedar
As a confessed fan of Timbuktu from the same house, I had to test this new creation. So I got a 1.5 ml tester directly from the manufacturer and off I went…
The first spray revealed cedar wood in its most magnificent form, powerful and hefty! But just a few seconds later, it turned in a sadly different direction, as the scent suddenly became dark and bitter. Although the cedar is still minimally recognizable, it is unfortunately pushed in a direction by saffron and nutmeg that I don't really like, and after a few hours, only an indefinable herbal paste, additionally garnished with cumin, is perceptible, which partly also reminds me of curry sauce.
Unfortunately, the sillage is not really good either. It feels to me as if the cedar has been trapped in the bottle and immediately seeks to escape after spraying…
For me, this is definitely not a masterpiece. Maybe my expectations were too high, but from a fragrance that has "cedar" in the title, I expect cedar and not an indefinable spice combo!
Addendum: after about 6 hours, the cedar returns and has almost completely displaced the herbs. However, it is only recognizable up close!
