J'aime without the musk (not a rose perfume)
Perhaps the people at La Perla read my review of J'AIME, in which I lament the gross musk note of that composition and the fact that the pink color turned brown even without exposure to light and over a fairly short period of time.
I say this because LA PERLA IN ROSA has very little to do with the original LA PERLA or with roses. It has a lot to do with J'AIME, however, including: raspberries, patchouli, sandalwood, and amber, all of which are also featured in the earlier perfume. What is missing? Why musk, of course!
To my nose, this is clearly an improvement on J'AIME, but it's really nothing new. I'd say that the folks at La Perla came mighty close to rebottling their earlier perfume. This one is nicer as a fragrance, but the bottle of J'AIME was better. If only I could figure out a way to switch the two juices!
People who like a bit of skanky musk along with their sweet patchouli will probably prefer J'AIME. No one should be buying IN ROSA under the false belief that it is a rose perfume. It is not. "Rosa" in this case just means "pink".
