My Day La Perla 2021

Let me start by saying I greatly dislike soapy scented perfumes yet, as My Day opens with an aldehydic zing, It's citrus and carrot seed top notes give just a touch of soapiness. The orris and florals at the mid, with an unexpected star anise, blend evenly into the iris-led powdery base. It leans vintage but with enough charm to keep it fresh. The beautiful bottle a perfect representation of the elegant perfume it holds.

This is the feminine orris perfume I've been searching high and low for! I was disappointed by Violet Ida by Miller Harris because the combo of orris and vanilla and carrot seeds there smells like play-doh. ELDO La Fin du Monde is a nice iris and carrot seed and sesame perfume but with a light projection and this smells like a more sophisticated take of it. Maison Crivelli Iris Malikhan is a bit masculine-leaning. But My Day is the perfect orris fragrance for a woman. Creamy and delightful and masterfully blended but not too heavy, so this could be the ideal signature scent during springtime. I bought a 30 ml on discount and then a 100 ml refill for only about £40 so I have extra on hand. My only complaint with this is that longevity is 2 hours or less although projection is decent.
