Great sweet-floral scent with familiar DNA
I definitely have to write something about this great piece. The Possibilities from the British designer brand La Perla. As a man, this brand is not particularly known since it exclusively produces for women, which somehow fits the name. The prices for, for example, lingerie are of course luxurious, just like this more upscale line in the "Private Blend style." There were also affordable fragrances in the range. The stock has become quite rare, even though the fragrances have not been officially discontinued. The reason for this seems to be a financial predicament of the brand, which seems to have been resolved this year. What this means for the fragrances is of course hard to say. I came across this great scent through a random occurrence: I ordered the Tony Iommi from a well-known shop, but received this La Perla instead. Since the price was a bit higher for this 120ml bottle, I kept it, which I do not regret. Of course not for me, but this scent is one of the most beautiful sweet-floral fragrances on the market that I have tested. An absolutely wonderful piece that is worth buying if you can get a bottle. It goes a bit in the Tilia/Alien direction, but has its own vibes.
Composed by Louise Turner, who has experience in the niche and designer sector. Definitely a pleasing sweet-floral niche that is not overwhelming and is wearable by pretty much any lady who values her appearance.
The bottle and packaging are really great. The packaging is rather simple, as it comes in a round cardboard box. The burgundy bottle is an absolute eye-catcher with this great cap. Even with 120ml, you get a size that lasts relatively long, also because it is really well suited for the evening. If everyday life allows it, it is also wearable then. However, I find sweet-floral fragrances to be better suited for the evening and leisure time.
This scent is rated relatively low with under 8, which may also be due to its slight similarity to Alien. You could also consider Tilia as a distant relative, but overall it is just a rough guideline of where the journey goes. Even though no jasmine is listed, it seems like there is a decent amount present. Additionally, there is a beautiful dark currant in this opening that radiates a wonderful fruity note. The fragrance ingredient Petalia also adds a great floral-fruity touch. A freshness from this rose water note is convincing and prevents the scent from becoming too heavy. There is also a strong mix of floral notes: rose, freesia, orange blossom, and as mentioned, this jasmine note. Very feminine and sexy, so it leans more towards the sensual side and is slightly flirty. The base impresses with a silky cashmere note and an amber-vanilla that gives the creation a sweet-sensual warmth. A slight Akigalawood note is also present, but not as prominent as in many current releases. Overall, a great sweet-floral creation with light fruity notes, and creamy-spicy accents play a role as well. The creation is quite loud and rather penetrating, so you shouldn't buy it blindly.
Performance is really good with 10+ hours and a very, very good sillage that lasts long. It is worth it, but could be too much for small spaces.
Overall, a creation that I really appreciate and can absolutely recommend.
