Pretty Sweet Nothing
The first spray smells peppery, than a hint of vanilla fights its way through and settles on top of a wood note that dominates the dry down. "J'Aime La Nuit" (I Love The Night), well, it's not as heavy and mysterious as the name and ad suggest. I would wear this during the day without thinking people expect me in lingerie or PJs. ; )
It's pleasant, tender, warm and has good silage. If you like to wear perfume to bed, this one is not offensive and keeps you smelling yummy in a soft way. I like my evening-out scents a bit more naughty. So, for me this is daywear only - if I'm in the mood for a soft vanilla - wood scent.

Another Purple Fruitchouli
I have been curious about La Perla J'AIME LA NUIT for quite some time and have on occasion considered a blind buy. I became less keen to do so after acquiring a tester of its namesake, J'AIME, the overt muskiness of which I dislike, given how sweet the composition also is. So I have resisted the temptation to buy this one, even as the price continues to descend at discounters.

I finally located a manufacturer's carded sample and have confirmed that this perfume does not really belong in my collection, although I do like the bottle quite a lot. The composition is similar to the purple fruitchoulis in ready abundance, and I'd rank the quality at about the midpoint: better than some; not as good as others. It smells pretty good, but is solidly anchored in designer terrain and reminds me quite a lot of Calvin Klein EUPHORIA, albeit J'AIME LA NUIT is less woody and more fruity.

The fruits in question, by the way, according to my card, which is bilingual in Italian and English, really are grapes, not grapefruit, as is listed above. There is even a picture a cluster of grapes, so purple really is the color of this fruitchouli. Two other exotic notes are listed: nashi and paradise seeds. I'm not sure whether I have ever encountered either of those, though they might be alternate names of more common-sounding things, something like narcissus for daffodil...

In any case, I do not dislike J'AIME LA NUIT, and I would probably wear it occasionally, if I had a bottle, but it doesn't cover any new terrain for me and so I probably won't be adding this one to my collection, though I would not mind swapping my J'AIME for a bottle of this...

------------------
back from a Google fact-finding mission: Nashi is a variety of pear, and Paradise seeds are marijuana seeds!

Modern oriental
Very nice oriental a little sweet while the amber note gives a kind of aromatic pachouli sense. The bottle is heavy black glass which gives a high class design. It is very long lasting and you can see that this is a very well blended perfume of a superior quality. Reminds a lot of Play intense. I like it very much. Try it!!!

Thérèse philosophe
No one will believe me. But I’ll tell it anyway.

This morning, I received wonderful fragrance mail from dear Very (oh, I could hardly be more grateful). I couldn’t help but drench myself in "J'aime la nuit" immediately. Yes, in the early morning. Delighted, excited, and once again spontaneously head over heels for a scent, I headed to the block seminar.

I was overly punctual, as I didn’t want to mess with the professor's Bull Terrier. As a notorious left-sitter, I took a seat in the very far left corner of the room. Gradually, classmates trickled in until the room -- well, let’s say it was quite decently filled. Getting credits quickly before the semester starts is indeed very tempting for some as a "soft option," hence such courses are not as unpopular as one might suspect.

Then the professor came in. Good mood was not on the agenda. He glanced around the room and then turned to his old laptop. Then he looked up again, puzzled. "Couldn’t you have maybe distributed yourselves a bit more intelligently? The WHOLE room is available to you. But-- you have to know for yourselves."

It slowly dawned on me that the whole crowd had taken seats on the left. Only one girl was sitting on the right side of the room. Strange. Something completely new. Yesterday, people were sitting normally. So I tried to find an explanation for the peculiar seating behavior. Maybe the girl all the way to the right has digestive issues? Maybe her shower is broken? No, she definitely didn’t look like that. A little while later, I realized that I was sitting in a massive, hypnotizing "J'aime la nuit" cloud. And if my assessment wasn’t completely off, this scent cloud must have lured the little lemmings.

Well. Not that I would be surprised. "J'aime la nuit" smells absolutely delicious. Very sensual, but without any fluff. The forbidden fruit sets the tone on my skin and gives the whole velvety, sexy concoction an almost obscene quality. Delicious is hardly a term: La Perla has brewed something fine.

Eventually, the professor successfully battled with his computer and got down to business. Today's topic: Thérèse philosophe. Aha. I hadn’t had the pleasure yet. So I perked up my ears. Minutes passed until it became clear what caliber Thérèse is. Admittedly, I had known for a while that some gems of 18th-century French literature are heavily pornographic. However, Thérèse philosophe turned out to be by far the dirtiest thing my ears have ever heard and my eyes have ever seen on a handout. Wow!
"J'aime la nuit" in the air, Thérèse philosophe as the topic. The result: Fogged-up windows and classmates with posture issues (some were almost under the desk). Intensified!

Next week, it continues. Hmm. The amount is very generous and sufficient for countless seminar days. Now the professor just needs to stay on course and keep dishing out topics in the style of Thérèse philosophe. This will be very amusing!

P.S. My conclusion -- this stuff is definitely narcotic.

A new star in my perfume (night) sky!
Kids, I wouldn't have come across this scent on my own. But let’s start from the beginning. Recently, during my stroll through my new favorite perfumery and extensive conversations with the nice saleswoman, I asked her for an unusual fragrance. One that not everyone has. She recommended J´Aime la Nuit. Even on the strip, it smelled fantastic, but they only had a 100ml size, and I usually don’t take that, so I left her my phone number. "Call me when you have it in a smaller size and when it’s on sale." Yesterday came the "momentous" call. IT is here. Since the perfumery is on the route I had to take for work today, I picked it up. I’m in bliss.......... Is this a dream scent!
But first, I want to complete the fragrance pyramid, as it is not complete (I have the scent description from the company, haha).
Top notes: Grapefruit blossoms, Nashi pear, and paradise apple
Heart notes: Hellebore rose, black orchid, and night jasmine
Base: Cashmere wood, amyris wood, and amber

The start is already grand. A whirlwind of paradise apple and Nashi pear and the citrusy sweetness of grapefruit blossom. But not too sweet, super delicious!

But then it comes, when the base kicks in (I’m buying black lace nightwear next week) the scent-strong night jasmine (the night jasmine surpasses regular jasmine in opulence by lengths and the sultry and darkly scented black orchid. (What felt a bit one-dimensional in Black Orchid by Tom Ford becomes an olfactory delight here)
The dark and powerful flowers give way to a woody warmth. This is pure sensuality! Oh homeland, and it lasts and lasts and lasts! Even the scent strip I took back then still smells amazing.

An oriental? Not really! A winter scent? Not really. This little masterpiece is a woody-floral fragrance and certainly not mainstream! J´Aime la Nuit is a scent for an intoxicating evening, a hot night, or spring days like this, that can’t decide. Am I spring or what will I be?

And I, silly goose, only bought a 30 ml bottle.

In the style of the classic "J'aime" , this scent is maybe more flowery with an oriental touch. Quite good .
Pretty the dark bottle .

It starts fruity and then becomes warm, floral, and very synthetic-woody. It's been discontinued for a while now. Too much competition...

Lush floral explosion, sweet fruits, a hint of hairspray, and a certain suggestive dark undertone. There's something about it that I like.

No airy lingerie, more like a tightly laced red corset with black lace. Charming start but then it runs out of steam.

An oriental fragrance that is light and comforting. Suitable for everyday wear and heartwarming, but unfortunately a bit forgotten.

Black as the night, black jasmine, black orchid... Floral-sweet, beautiful and pleasant, but it fades away faster than the night for me.

A gentle symphony of the night.
A light oriental that scores with balance.
Fruity, slightly woody, and beautifully floral.

Definitely the fragrance model of "Unforgettable" - but more complex, fuller, and more mature than Aguilera's 'dupe'. Sensual & great!
