Fresh, powdery iris and licorice
At first spray this is all sweet powdery iris and violet, laced with licorice. It also smells very fresh in an almost aquatic way (this is probably the ivy). Although I get more iris than violet, this really reminds me of these purple violet mints I used to get as a kid. I wasn't that keen on the taste of the mints (although I'd probably like them more now), but I did think they smelled good.
Being a summer version, this lacks the heavier incense base of the original Lolita Lempicka and replaces it with transparent musk, creamy vanilla and hint of woody dry vetiver. I am not a fan of the original primarily because of the incense. As incense and I don't get along well, and I like musk and love vetiver, I prefer this to the original.
I have to say though, that although I do prefer this flanker, it's really more that I had issues with the first Lolita Lempicka than that I'm blown away by this one. Lolita Lempicka l'Eau d'Ete Parfumee falls into the category of perfumes that I would wear if I received it as a gift but probably wouldn't buy a bottle for myself
