Her Sweeeet, Sw, Sw, Sweeeet can...
Having been a fan of the original Au Masculin, this was an easy transition for me. Couldn't be happier with how Lempicka modernized this one. Absolutely still has the original DNA, but they've somehow managed to simultaneously tame and concentrate it. If you're familiar with audio compression in sound engineering, the concept is similar. Take the resolution of the original formula, reduce the dynamic range of the notes by squeezing them at both ends and normalize. In this case, the result is an extraordinarily well-balanced composition that doesn't stray much from a single and persistent accord - and it's sweeeeeet.

To sum up the fragrance in one sentence, it's basically a straight line of incredibly tantilizing sweetness that hovers somewhere between fennel-flavoured woody sugar water and boozy syrup. On paper, the opening is an absolute BLAST of sugary apple, syrup and vanilla, followed by an expertly blended licorice and some kind of weak cinnamon-esque spice. In fact, the woody apple somehow reminds me of fragrances in the style of Boss No. 6 or Lacoste Pour Homme - both of which would easily fall into the same category of casual sweeties. Don't be fooled though, Lempicka Homme is FAR sweeter than both, with an obvious emphasis on the saccharine-laden base notes mingled with a wonderful TOUCH of anise.

Sure enough, on skin it's a bit of a different story. Almost immediately you get the anise and booze, but within minutes everything settles into a Le Male-esque woody sweetness that I swear, permeates quantum dimensions of reality, it's really quite astonishing. Like a smooth and tantilizing finger of liquid syrup, it reaches out to tickle the pleasure receptors of noses that come anywhere near it. In essence, it's a very simple scent - almost generic - but boy is it lovely. In fact, when I purchased the bottle, it came in a gift set with an aftershave balm and when I picked up the box, I could smell the damn thing right through the packaging. Super pleasing, easy to like and subtley addictive. Immediate approval, despite the reform.

And if you think about it, it's not really that much of a surprise. Modern formulations are almost always tamer, weaker and sweeter, and this one is no exception. BUT - and it's a big but(t) - Lempicka Homme still manages to balance the notes really well and maintain decent longevity - something that really surprised me the first couple times I wore it. I even tested it in incredibly hot weather and during workouts with no problems whatsoever. Morever, despite the incessant sweetness, it's thin enough to be worn all year long without becoming cloying - a rare attribute among sweet or gourmand leaning fragrances.

But if there's one area in which this stuff excels, it's layering. Combine it with any fruity, woody, smoky, boozy or gourmand scent and it can add that extra ingredient (SUGAR!) that draws people in like flies to a piece of sh.......ugary icing. And maybe it's just me, but I think it's a bit sensual. As in...the sexy kind. A thin, understated woody sweetness with just a dash of spice...that makes existence extra nice, wink wink. Maybe Belle was onto something. Thumbs up from me. Great atomizer too. A very solid release from Lempicka for someone looking to please the masses. Or themselves. Not judging. Now it's time for some sweeeeeeet....

The Combination of Licorice, Anise and Vanilla
This is a Lovely Scent, Soft , Sweet , Spicy and Warm .It reminds me a bit of Le Male but It is not the same. The Licorice and The Vanilla notes are dominant in this perfume. I bought it blind-buy after reading the positive comments with reasonable price. It opens up with semi sweet soft Spicy and floral notes in the background then dry down is sweet vanilla musky and woody. Lempicka Homme is Sweet but It is not Gourmand , This is perfect for the Cold Weather and I really enjoy it. Longevity is Average , Highly recommended.
Thumbs Up.

Lempicka Homme EDT
Smells about 90% like Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male. Peppery, liquorice, Sugary sweet Vanilla Rum with a tinge of Labdanum and Musk base. It lasts well for an EDT. But its a little too boozy and skanky for me. If you like JPG or one million you'll love it. As I don't like either of them it's not my cup of tea. Too sweet. But it's well crafted

Au Masculin fit
Au Masculin is one of my favorite perfumes, I still have 2 bottles of the first version, so I wasn't particularly eager to test what replaced the iconic fragrance of Lempicka, but finally I got my hands on a sample of Homme.
The Homme edition is no match for Au Masculin, it loses in every field. It seems to have a similar atmosphere, it is some kind of substitute, but it is a much flatter and monolithic scent. Judging it apart from comparisons with Au Masculin, it's not bad, but knowing its predecessor, I have the impression that it is a defective product, devoid of the feisty character it had before. I don't even want to describe it.
In addition, Homme has quite poor parameters, longevity is still good - about 5 hours, but the projection is very close to the skin. Au Masculin had great power and carrying capacity. Homme smells a bit like his washings. It's still pretty good, but unfortunately I know its predecessor and how good it was. I recommend Green Lover from Lempicka.

Only Halflings Left in the Shire.
OG, or "original gangster," is what the TikTok generation calls the original version of something that was once (good) and is now - at least - different in its current form.
Homme is Lolita Lempicka's 2018 re-release of the popular Au Masculin, the OG, which is no longer available.
As with Au, a sweet licorice accord is at the center of Homme. Right upon spraying, this warm, uncomplicated yet unusual note takes the lead. Additionally, due to the absinthe, there’s a hint of something alcoholic, which dissipates in less than five minutes, until the fragrance transitions into a skin-close vanilla-musk combination after about 30 minutes, while still retaining the licorice note.
With Au Masculin, everything is more defined, especially the boozy top note, which comes across clearer and feels spicier, lasting longer. The scent simply feels more refined and valuable than Homme. This also applies to longevity and sillage: While Au has a decent performance, Homme is rather lackluster. After 4 hours, it is close to the skin and cannot project even with generous application.
What I particularly like about both is the atmosphere they create. Homme, like Au Masculin, feels fairy-tale-like, ethereal, playful, and cozy, staying true to the theme of many Lempicka fragrances. You can really let yourself fall into a fairy forest here, complete with a gingerbread house and everything that goes with it. This gives this fragrance pair a high recognition value while maintaining great wearability, although not for formal occasions. Anise, or rather licorice, freshens up the otherwise sweet scent, which I would typically associate with the cold season, enough that it, not least because of its lightness, also fits in spring and on cooler summer days. But: Homme, even more than Au Masculin, is more of a scent for you alone, a kind of mood background, in contrast to statement fragrances like Aventus and Sauvage or clean scents like Prada.
Au Masculin is no longer available, so Lempicka Homme stands for me without competition. It's a shame because I would have liked the OG as it was, or a lighter cologne that picks up the sweet licorice and reimagines it for summer. Lempicka Homme is neither of those.

Creamy, spicy. Anisy, but not boozy. Green, yet sweet. Became a skinscent in 2 hours, lasted a while afterwards. I wish I loved liquorice...

This little one it's a hidden underrated gem. If you like Absinth and boozy vibes. This is for you. It's incredibly good.

Hard to describe but it comes across very sweet and green at the same time. It somehow has kind of a damp smell. Its ok I would say

This was horrific, it smelled like finding a dead body in a derelict building. Licorice and ivy are not pleasant together.

Anise doesn't dream dry, as it enjoys the strong stuff.
Comfortable base to layer on.
Fresh pillow fight behind the purple curtain.*

Beautiful sweet-spicy scent with a hint of anise and subtle wood. Very similar to Au Masculin, but more reserved and lighter.
