Indiscreet tuberose
I basically have Fhfhfh to thank for the fact that this wonderful fragrance, which like many fragrances today is unfortunately almost forgotten, now graces my collection. He sent me a sample and I immediately fell for Indiscret.

On the one hand I love tuberose as a flower and on the other hand I love gourmands. Indiscret combines both.

The start is a full, intense and completely unsweet fruity-floral note. However, the tuberose joins in very early and brings sweetness. Anyone who knows the flower knows that it not only smells great, but also smells very sweet.
However, the top note of Indiscret does not initially contain the sweetness of tuberose, which may come as a surprise to some people. The advantage of this lack of sweetness is that the tuberose, whose real flowers can cause headaches due to the immensely strong scent, only shows the beautiful side here.

After about an hour, Indiscret slowly - very slowly - becomes darker, warmer and noticeably sweeter. At the same time, the tuberose decreases in size and leaves room for other flowers. Ylang-ylang in particular contributes to the enormous softness and creaminess, although it is not one of the fragrance building blocks.

Lucien Lelong speaks of the following scent building blocks on the website:

Mandarin, orange blossom, Algerian jasmine, French tuberose,
scarlet oak moss, Egyptian amber and exotic essential oils

A good sillage ensures a very nice scent distribution, but caution is advised, a little too much of the scent and the environment might not be very pleased. The projection is quite expansive and is stronger or weaker depending on the dosage.

The enormous durability ensures that the scent can be enjoyed for a long time, but can also lead to headaches. Therefore, caution is advised when using it, because as already mentioned, too much could result in a very unpleasant overdose.

For the base, most of the sweetness is removed again and the tuberose also leaves room for other fragrance building blocks. In my opinion, this includes spices - I would assume nutmeg and clove oil, and some vanilla is also noticeable, because the base is soft, round and gourmand, possibly supplemented with woody scent components. While the projection still has these spicy components, Indiscret is greenish and unsweet directly on the skin, which I particularly like and I wished this note was a little more prominent. Because the spicy-sweet note is difficult in the long term, so I would only use this scent in homeopathic dosage.

In direct comparison with "Tuberose" from Profvmum Roma, which simply offers extremely concentrated tuberose, Indiscret shows significantly more facets and also leaves room for other flowers without drifting into the kitschy floral. Finally, I would like to emphasize that Indiscret is not for the shy; this scent is definitely too loud and too strong.

Nevertheless: Another fragrance that should definitely continue to exist and is therefore - recreated - still available for purchase on the Lucien Lelong website today.

Nips have ruined me!
I own a small bottle of Indiscret Cologne, which is just lovely. I thought it was a lovely smokey floral over a woody tonka base and that was it - Old Spice Oriental.

Well, I've had a taste of the real stuff.

I bought some Schiaparelli Nips (tiny ampoules of perfume, hermetically sealed) and a tube of Indiscret parfum came along with them.

Oh my god.

The top is green but only a vague haze of galbanum as it is with Vol de Nuit. There is a ton of orange flower and a sweet fruity tuberose. As with many orientals in extrait (really the only way), the base is smoldering and swelling by the time the middle notes are popping in. What begins as a sweet, pretty tuberose fragrance quickly evolves into a dense, arcane oriental. There's no powder - only dark, brooding incense and heavy musk in a beautiful contrast with the fruity light tuberose. Iris and orange flower concrete add a sweet and complex lightness to the sinking spell of the incense. It's truly sublime for the 6 or so hours it does this. As it wears away, sandalwood, musk, and orange flower concrete are all that remain. And they remain for a long time. I can't wash it off!

The cologne is nice, but the parfum is amazing. Timeless - a true classic.

I can truly recommend nips as the best and safest perfume buys you can make - they're fantastic, inexpensive, and are engineered to preserve fragrance better than the factory bottles. If you haven't experienced real vintage perfume the way it was meant to be, these are a great starting point to help you know what's good and what's spoiled.

Good Morning, Jean Harlow, how was the night?
Did one cry or laugh among orchids?
Was the sky over Hollywood black or red?
Was it champagne or cocaine that was offered?
Blessed be your lamé décolleté and the marabou stole from Chicago!
In your hips sways the whole world,
Good morning, Jean Harlow, with me!

Immediately after applying this fragrance, Andree Heller's "Song of October 4th" came to mind, a homage to the Thirties, the dawn, the extravagant parties with the awakening of suppressed sexuality, all said and described in these few lines.
Just like the fragrance, born in 1935, created for this time, just like Jean Harlow, the man-killing "obscene" vamp from the 30s. The fragrance is described by the manufacturer as "sophisticated" - fits! and the name "Indiscrete" hits right in the heart - or somewhere else.

The bombastic thing for me is the perfection of the blend of the dominant notes: galbanum-tuberose-iris, all three complementing each other, the peppery galbanum softens the sweetness of the tuberose, and iris powders its soft finish over all. Brilliant!
The "woody notes" for my nose are limited to East Indian sandalwood, a bit of amyris and amber, and a tiny little nothing of a hint of patchouli.

I love galbanum and tuberose beyond measure - those who do not share this love should keep their fingers and nose away from "Indiscrete".

Galbanum, the deep, rooty, warm, balsamic, slightly peppery resin - a scent that has a balancing effect and dissolves emotional hardening. The association of Medusa with uterine cramps is not coincidental, as galbanum physically affects the female reproductive organs (Holla die Waldfee and oh yes!) and was formerly called "mother resin".
However, to smell a connection to camphor is blasphemy!

Yes, and the tuberose, which so often gets torn apart here with "uhhh" and "bähhh" - I cannot understand it, the tuberose, this "nightly friend", perhaps it simply does not suit morning and daytime people, but rather those who whisper softly at midnight, "Darkness, how beautiful it is that you exist".
And regarding the effect of tuberose, it is said:
"The scent enhances personal charisma and emphasizes the character of the person surrounding themselves with it."

My inexpressible gratitude goes to Florblanca, who unexpectedly gifted me this dream, this seducer in the satin phallic bottle, which makes my hips sway around the world!
Blessed be your big heart, you white flower!

Uterine Cramps? Here’s the Solution!
Indiscreet! The name says it all! I've definitely tested it 4 times, taking my time with the scent and myself. Nope!
Bergamot and mandarin don't show up at all; instead, a strong camphor-fennel note hits me right away. I then looked up galbanum. It is indeed related to fennel. Aha! It has been and is used in naturopathy for epilepsy, uterine cramps, stomach issues, etc. A useful scent! Buy it and spray it in your shirt or panties, and you won't have any more shaking cramps, and your uterus won't make a peep.
In the heart note, it first whirls, as the powdery fairy iris announces its dry and dusty existence. I actually love iris scents and geraniums, but tuberose overpowers everything so much that my freshly blossoming friendship with this quirky flower fades away again. In the background, yes, when it roars at me, no. Plus, this peculiar camphor note stubbornly holds on until the base.
My Aunt Charlotte always smelled like this, but that was the cream from the alternative practitioner for diffuse complaints. If Aunt Charlotte had stood in the closet, no moths or silverfish would have gone in there.
A bit of grated wood rounds it all off, but it doesn't reconcile me.
The bottle gets 100%!

A common little creature pees in a flower shop in midsummer: Sounds terrible, but it's good, especially since the scent remains moderate.

Lush, heavy, diva-like! Sultry, sweet blooms on a resinous-woody base, with a hint of animalic. Vintage at its best!
