Smoky contemplation
I am walking along a cliff by the sea. My path is uneven and winding, and the sun and wind press on my body. I come to a quiet place, nestled in a garden that has been long abandoned but still blooms with wild-growing flowers and citrus trees. There's enough shelter here from the strongest winds that I can take a seat on the dusty earth and place an incense burner beside me. I light my charcoal, the scent of sandalwood rising around me before being carried off by the breeze.

At first I was somewhat baffled by the listed notes, as it opens on me as almost pure smoke, but as it opens up the florals and lemon come out beautifully. The woodsy-smokiness remains prominent throughout, but the florals/citrus round it out and lift it up a little. Also has a tealike element to it - maybe the jasmine and neroli? The amber and vetiver are subtler but noticeable if I look for them. I can't say the same for the melon - I didn't know it contained a melon note until I looked it up here.

Overall I really enjoy this one! It's invigorating and interesting, challenging but still meditative. That said, I'm not sure it's one I would wear to work, even in the solid formulation, as I can see why it's polarizing. But if you like smoky incense smells I would definitely check it out!

Cucumber smoke
Bought it because in the store it smelled like a beautiful fresh cucumber/watermelon rind.
At home it still has that, but a smoky, incense like smell takes over.
On my skin it smells like a very powdery, smoky palo santo, with none of that fresh cucumber i bought it for. On my brother that cucumber smell was more forward.
It was a little bit disappointing, but it's difficult to properly judge scents in a Lush store because all of the soaps out in the open, so that's on me. I do have to say there's something very hypnotic about the scent, it's just not for me.

Heavy hippie vibes
I bought this scent in the solid version during a hippie phase that involved a lot of camping and not wanting to smell too "pretty." So, it makes a lot of sense that the Lush associate didn't have a hard time talking me in to this one.

It's unisex (maybe slightly male). As a whole, it sits in this interesting place where it's definitely woody (the sandalwood is very pronounced to me at first whiff), but more airy than earthy. The zing of citrus, the aromatics, the pepper, and the incense lift the woody notes into something kind of meditative. Though I'm calling this airy, it's not light whtsoever. It's a bit intense. It feels like a very deep scent that you can get lost in (and it's a long-wearing scent, so you definitely have the time to get lost).

I don't wear this anymore and I can't say I miss it, but it does hold a little place in my heart. Whenever I smell it I'm transported back to that year I wore it, with tapestries hanging aboved beds and incense burning and making macrame plant holders. All that's missing is the weed.

The lighter, more accessible version of the liquid edgy brother. A bit softer but much nicer to wear.
