Ahh... Oh no...
I fell in love with this perfume on a paper strip. I loved the smell of the lemon which faded into a nice, dry herbal note.

Unfortunately, now I've tried it on my skin several times and generally been able to spend more time with it... I don't like it. Relative to my initial impression, the perfume feels much more sweet and sticky. It really is reminiscent of a Ricola candy or a breath mint.

I just wanna smell like lemon and rosemary, not sticky candied lemon and mint. :(

Blackcurrant soothers & a sad nostalgia.
Junk was the perfume someone that I think I would have fallen for if I’d been strong enough to at the time used to wear. When I first smelt it, it reminded me of blackcurrant soothers, the cough sweets, which I’ve always loved the smell of.

Sentimentally, junk to me now forever smells like someone who put their headphones over my ears before I even knew I was overwhelmed, someone who held my hand and looked right into my soul the first time we met. who painted my nails sparkly green on the kitchen floor of my first flatshare, someone who I knew for such a crazily short time yet whose heart touched mine so profoundly that I’ll always kick myself for leaving town without saying goodbye.

Blackcurrant soothers and a hundred maybes. Cool, menthol, sharp but sweet & a little melancholy.

What a Load of Rubbish
I used to regularly enjoy going to Lush. I often treated myself to a delicious shower gel or a bath bomb. Although you had to scrub the tub for much longer after a bath bomb than the time you actually spent in it. But at some point, the shower gels just became ridiculously expensive - EURO 20-35 for a medium-sized container is a bit excessive, even if it is vegan, cruelty-free, and smells really good. Moreover, I regularly got frustrated when each of my favorite shower gels was already out of stock 2-3 months later when I tried to repurchase them. No, that’s where the fun completely ends. Recently, however, I was at my trusted Italian lingerie specialty store, and when I asked what smelled so heavenly, the staff told me that the Lush store at the other end of the street was probably airing out its products again. Off I went...

The Lush perfumes currently all come in these uniform black-brown sliding boxes, which can, to put it mildly, drive one rapidly insane if you’re not particularly patient. The bottle is a rather unimaginative square with a very minimally designed label sticker and an even simpler black cap. Ms. Herrera, Mr. Rabanne, you could learn something here! Sometimes less can be more!

"Junk" starts citrusy sharp and zesty like a bite into a lemon fresh from the tree. A few more bitter and sweeter notes of mandarin come into play. But don’t get too excited too soon, as the blackcurrant lurks with all its sweet-bitter fruitiness. Taking a deeper sniff reveals a wonderful twist: green freshness from the herb garden with a hint of fresh mint.

That’s it. But that’s all it needs to be. Full-bodied fruity notes, underpinned with delicate green herbs. A linear scent without twists and turns, without a late flourish. No secrets, no disappointments, completely without frills. I love "Junk" for that. Sometimes I just need the simple things in life that completely uplift me and put a constant grin on my face for the rest of the day.

A wonderful unisex feel-good scent for every day. Uncomplicated, pleasant, radiating positive vibes. And also good lasting, moderately perceptible for about 8 hours. But that’s all it needs to be. If you want more or longer, just reapply, which poses absolutely no problems with such a simply constructed scent.

I’m baffled as to why this great scent is called "Junk." Maybe it’s just a joke from someone in charge because the overpaid marketing teams came up with nothing but brainless nonsense for their bullshit bingo, and they’d rather print some "crap" on the label instead of any content-free advertising nonsense. Whatever the case, I like this rubbish. Feel free to give me more of it. I need to go to Lush again soon... especially when a perfume costs hardly more than a shower gel. What a load of rubbish!

Who invented it?
“Junk” comes quite close to the famous Swiss herbal pastilles with R, but it definitely has enough character to smell like perfume and not like (albeit fresh) oral cavity...

Lush sometimes feels to me like the Comme des Garcons of the mainstream. Not that a scent like “Junk” seems magically experimental or artistically valuable or even industrial, yet it is far beyond the normal drugstore level in its creativity and interplay of ideas, reflections, and colors, much bolder and more natural. Not to mention the exemplary commitment to animal rights in the beauty segment. “Junk” is a green-herbaceous sweetie, a bit icy, a bit fruity. I wouldn’t deny the phrase “Ricola to spray.” Still, it’s definitely better than it sounds for many, as few would want to smell like herbal candies and a lingering cold. Or like waste, as the name flirtatiously suggests. Both are, of course, wrong and cheeky - because “Junk” is anything but disposable. Much closer to a keeper than to the brown bin. A gentle sage beauty, a cheeky rosemary rascal, a youthful currant.

Bottle: unspectacular, but good
Sillage: very subtle and candy-like
Longevity: very narrow - 3-4 hours, even less

Conclusion: not trash, can’t throw it away. More sensible recycling than a leftover bin!

Not Junk but a Ricola Herbal Candy :-D
This was my first thought as I eagerly unwrapped the bottle and took a sniff. But first, let's go in order...
I was strolling through the city center with my partner when it suddenly hit me that I wanted to visit Lush. I hadn't been inside a Lush for a long time and, accordingly, hadn't bought any products, but the unique scent of the "Comforter" was still fresh in my memory. So, I did what I said. I stood in the corona-related line outside the store and was soon allowed to enter. Unfortunately, the shopping experience is somewhat marred by the fact that you can no longer smell the products yourself; instead, if you're interested, you have to call over a salesperson who then assists you with your purchases. Understandable in the current situation, as not everyone should be pressing their dripping noses against the unpackaged products. So, I had a nice saleswoman wrap up a "Comforter" for me, and then she asked if I was already familiar with the scent that corresponds to the "Comforter." I said no. When she then asked if she could apply it on me, I of course said yes. The "Comforter" as a fragrance? *scream* How cool is that? She enveloped me in a cozy cassis cloud, and I melted away. I had to have it! So both the perfume and the bath bomb ended up in the shopping cart.

Happy and a bit high from the time spent in Lush (anyone who has been in a Lush knows what I mean...an olfactory giant orchestra!) I blissfully floated back into my partner's arms, cradling my treasure.
We continued to stroll through the city, and I kept sniffing my arm, each time pure delight.

Back in the car, I naturally couldn't hold back and had to smell this sensational scent again. But as soon as I took the fragrance out of my bag and read the name, I started to hesitate: "Junk"? Shouldn't it actually say "The Comforter"? I shrugged and pushed the doubt aside for the moment. I sprayed a bit into the cap and smelled again, and I was shocked. This was definitely not the scent of the "Comforter." It smelled like a very fresh Ricola herbal candy. What had happened? Had the saleswoman made a mistake? Did she perhaps even trick me into promoting "Junk" because it might have been a slow seller? I don't know. My partner suggested simply exchanging the fragrance, but I didn't want to, because somehow I liked my new Ricola.

The scent initially smells very herbal. Rosemary and sage are clearly recognizable. The sage is a bit more dominant to my nose at first, but not by much. Gradually, the mandarin and lemon join in. However, this does not smell or feel artificial. I didn't even notice the blackcurrant at first. It only appeared after several tests on my skin.
And what can I say? The more I wear it, the more I like it. And the more I wear it, the more it smells to me like the "Comforter" bath bomb. However, not as sweet as the bath bomb, but fresher and a bit more bitter, without being too masculine or heavy.

I find the longevity to be above average. I can still perceive it on myself for a long time. Nevertheless, one should indulge in a maximum of three sprays, as it is quite intense.
My partner, for example, doesn't like it at all. To him, Junk smells like cleaning products (the philistine!)
I, however, like it very much, and when I want to completely step away from my gourmand perfumes, I gladly reach for it. So, you see, opinions are divided on it.

In my opinion, it can be worn all year round. Sparingly dosed, it lasts all day. The bottle is simple and functional. Not a design highlight, but the inner values count, and those are great.

Conclusion:
Junk is a lovely herbal-fruity scent that lasts long. I would definitely recommend it to men as well. The herbs, citrus fruits, and blackcurrant together create a rounded, fruity-bitter blend. In short, a Ricola to scent yourself with :-D

P.S.: I researched for a long time and finally found out that there once was a fragrance named "The Comforter" by Lush. Unfortunately, it seems to have been limited and is no longer produced. Whether Junk is now a fresher version of the old scent or whether the two have no connection at all, I couldn't find out. Maybe someone among you knows more details?

Lemon cough drop with lots of blackcurrant. Sour, fruity, medicinal-herbaceous. Quirky, but interesting.

A nice citrus/orange freshness with a lovely tangy note. However, this fades away. Then fruity but not too sweet.

Sweet fruit juice gummy bears and light mint candies. Or as already described here, a blackcurrant-herb cold candy.

In winter it's a no-go, but in the heat I totally fell in love with it: fresh, very herbal, a bit sweet & fruity; Ricola really hits the mark.
