Elephant & Roses Maria Candida Gentile 2015

I don't know how and why but I can't smell a thing of the notes but somehow this smells like the most accurate truffle scent ever on me. I swear. Like it was truffle oil. Maybe a bit of thyme, but the rest... no. I still like it because I like truffles but I'm wondering whats going on, totally not expected and surely a skin chemistry issue. Still, what the fuck.

This one is weird. The thyme note is really prominent at the beginning, then it smells like freshly washed scalp and roses. I know it's the costus that give that impression, so I guess that if the prompt was to create a perfume that reminds you of animal skin (as opposed to of animal fur), then this is pretty spot-on. Nothing fecal about this, just animal/human skin. But it's strange enough to deter me.

Elephants… I like elephants. Yes, honestly, I think they are wonderful animals and I would love to see them "live" in their natural habitat. And baby elephants are just so cute (yes yes, not only kitten babies are adorable! :DD). I would even love to have an elephant as a pet he he he, kind of like Bart from The Simpsons winning an elephant in a radio contest and having it as a pet for a while :D

But why is the fragrance called Elephant & Roses? I’m not quite sure. However, it is said that the perfumer was inspired to create this scent when imagining elephants walking through a field full of blooming roses, however one comes to that...

At first, I smell thyme, unmistakably, herb-like, it smells quite nice if you like herbal scents. However, for a few seconds, there is also a somewhat medicinal background. But then a sweet scent comes through, perhaps from the jasmine.
After that, I smell… tea. Black tea. Which isn’t even mentioned in the fragrance pyramid, which is strange since the scent of tea is quite intense here and therefore easily detectable.
Otherwise, you don’t really get much from the heart note, except maybe from the amber, which smells sweet and thus sweetens the black tea. Here, I must also say that the initial sweetness probably came from the amber rather than the jasmine, as the jasmine is hardly detectable anymore. The roses, which the fragrance is named after, are also quite weak (they were trampled by the big animals after all :D).
The animalic notes only start to emerge in the base, while the thyme from the top note remains quite dominant for a long time and the scent continues to smell of sweet tea.

The projection is above average and is initially quite noticeable, at least nearby. However, it fades somewhat quickly, but never becomes too close to the skin. One shouldn’t expect too much from the sillage.
The longevity, however, is not bad and lasts about seven or eight hours.

The bottle is a simple, rectangular flacon with light yellow fragrance liquid and a cylindrical bronze cap. On the front, there is a beautiful light red label with the name and brand as well as the logo, all in golden lettering. Everything is quite okay.

Mhh…. The scent is quite nice. The tea seems a bit too sweet and the thyme seems to dominate, but otherwise, the scent is neither unpleasant nor particularly outstanding, making it just one of many fragrances that you don’t necessarily need, but tea lovers might still want to take a chance on. Because the tea scent smells authentic and not too bad at all.

It is more suitable for spring and summer as a daytime or casual scent.

And as mentioned, the roses are not really detectable, or at least not strongly detectable. As described, the elephant probably trampled them :D
