1980s style tuberose floriental
Tyger Tyger is not for me, but that is due entirely to my own personal issues with tuberose rather than the way in which the perfume is constructed or wears. The perfume itself is blameless. Lovers of the spicy 1980s floriental style of Big White Floral will rejoice in this juice. It starts off with a hugely sweet peach bubblegum note that might as well be tuberose candy – and at this point, I’m all #thanksifuckinghateit.

But this is Francesca Bianchi, y’all. She’s not going to leave those great, big honey-dripping white flowers out there on their own for long. Almost immediately, in fact, the familiar Bianchi accord of ‘stony, smoky, slutty iris leather with a side of licked skin’ (that’s how I refer to it anyway) rises up to infuse the floral candy with an attractive smokiness, kind of like hay, leather, and woods being smoked in a far off barn.

So, yes, by the mid-section, I’m starting to come around. There’s enough going on here to reduce the tuberose to something I can just about glimpse at the corner of my eye. Think Pèche Cardinal (Parfums MDCI) – minus the tropical coconut – sleeping with a stable boy, their sticky sex juices mingling with the grimy but healthy aroma of leather riding tack and hay. It shares something with the utterly mad, bubblegum-on-steroids tuberose incense of Daphne (Comme des Garcons), a bit of that fleshy peach sweetness of Pèche Cardinal, and quite a lot of overlap with the retro butter-caramel-leather-hay-filtered smut of Tubéreuse III.

The drydown smells curiously like the peach-scented floor wax of Chinatown, the tuberose boiled down until its bubblegum and peach juice juiciness evaporates, fading out into a gently smoky Crayola finish. But tuberose wax is still tuberose, and man, even a little bit of it is nigh on too much for this gal. As it flattens out slightly at the end, more of the scent’s candied tuberose-ness – and thus also its essentially 1980s floriental character – is laid bare. Don’t get me wrong – Tyger Tyger is a beautifully made, and surprisingly softly spoken white floral that will please many. It’s really no fault of the scent that it happens to brush up against one of my personal triggers.

Light and shadow
Opens with a delicate aroma of white flowers, quite innocent almost like a sneaking tiger. After this initial phase which lasts just w few minutes, we have two main accords, sweet warm notes of honey and overripen yellow fruits and dirty animalic notes of oud, fur. Those two accords play together very well, like darkness and light. Depending on the day and type of your skin one of them can dominate the whole composition. The blend and quality is superb here.

Mouth Watering
This is a honey peach that has been sitting out for a few days on your table and its ready to burst. Just touching the peach will cover your fingers in its sweet stickiness. There is a bit of animalic feel to it, there is some leather detected underneath. Most fruity fragrances are bright and sweet like a gourmand but this has a density to it that other fruity fragrances do not. Interestingly enough, I would also say this is a chypre, you can pickup the oakmoss base as the fragrance drys down. It a rich and sweet perfume that is good for the cooler months, I think this would be overwhelming in the heat. It lasted on my skin about 5 hours and it had a decent projection off the skin. They have 30ml available for €108 and 100ml for €235, the 100ml is alot but I think the 30ml is the perfect size and price point.

My first and favorite
This was my first purchase from Ms. Bianchi and is still my favorite of all her work.

On my skin this opens as peach — juicy, sweet, almost overripe — and honey — raw, unfiltered, wild, animalic honey. Soon white florals appear (I don't smell tuberose, specifically, just a general sense of white flowers). And shortly after some patchouli and heliotropin. The patchouli is soft (not dank and dark) and augments the gourmand aspects of this perfume — although I wouldn't call this perfume "a gourmand."

The peach and honey stay very present through the entire life of the perfume. After about an hour, the leather and oud begin to flesh things out and pull down some of the sweetness. This is another of those fragrances where I only smell the sandalwood the next morning, in the far dry down of the perfume.

Projection for the first several hours is at least 6 feet. This isn't a perfume for the timid or those who are worried about getting noticed. Projection slowly settles to a small, fluffy bubble of peach-patchouli-oakmoss-leather around the 4 hour mark.

I don't find this to be quite as much of a "light and dark" contrast as the marketing material makes it out to be, but there is an interplay between heavier and lighter notes that I enjoy.

I frequently get compliments for all ages and genders when I wear this. I'd say it's definitely a spring-to-early-summer scent. And not office safe, imo.

The newest Francesca Bianchi's masterpiece
Honied, nectary white flowers and fruits enveloped by soft leather. Tropical, intoxicating, animalic, creamy and powdery at the same time, leathery, sensual. One more masterpieces of Francesca Bianchi, unique, as all her perfumes, masterfully blended. Projection and sillage are lighter than other fragrances of this brand. Versatile, uisex and easily warn all year round.

Sweet pungent bubblegum tuberose with a sour sting running through. The great FB leathery base is lovely as ever.

Floral, fruity, leathery, sweet, soft and powdery. Honey with peaches and leather. Maybe the most wearable perfume from Francesca Bianchi.

Very sweet peach and honey, with some darker notes as an undertone. Not sure yet if it’s my cup of tea.

Mesmerizing perfume. Dense, rich and opulent. Never thought a flowery perfume could smell this way. So dark and resinous yet a lil sweet...

The Francesca Bianchi Sensual Musk Special ©® + an overlapping aldehydic honey accord. Neat, though rather feminine.

For a change, Bianchi did not overdo the carnal side. Result: a well-dosed fruity floral. Mild, sweet and with a tiny seductive wink. Nice.

This is a tasty blend, a balance between refined and dirty, white and dark, smells of Lust. A syrupy modern chypre.

Incredibly well-blended honey/floral chypre that is too smooth to really pick out individual notes. Huge projection and performance.
