Midnight Shimmer Michael Kors 2016

I love this fragrance!!!

Why do they always discontinue the best stuff... WHHHYYYEEEE??!!

Everything about this is beautiful to me. Such a wonderfully mature and slightly smoky vanilla. That quince and Peru balsam just does something to me.

I always received compliments when wearing this beauty... It had great performance on all fronts too.

I miss it so much.

Imagine you're at a high end gathering drinking Champagne, that's the scent.

Smells very expensive. Definitely worth wearing on the Red Carpet.

This is something I'd wear with a satin gown during a night out at a fancy gathering.

It's not overpowering, it's very smooth, dense Vanilla with Sparkling Champagne.

I smelled nothing fruity or floral. Lasts a while, even better on clothes and hair.

There's probably White Florals but florals aren't the main focus here. It's mostly Vanilla.

This scent simply smells sweet, the vanilla is present from beginning to end. Not much more happens. I like it a lot. Especially on days when I come home feeling remote-controlled after enjoying 8 to 10 hours of "noise" at work. It calms me down, and when I can sit on the couch, pet my little cats, and apply this fragrance, I find myself deeply relaxed. It doesn't ask much of me, it's not complicated like so much in life, it's just there and does me good. I wouldn't want to do without it. Indulging... :-))))

I find the Kors fragrances to be very mood-dependent - and, as I learned through Midnight Shimmer, very temperature-dependent as well.

The 24 K had to move on to my mother-in-law because it is too feminine for me, and those elegant moments are quite rare for me.
Luminous Gold, on the other hand, I find quite wearable.
How will it be with Midnight Shimmer?

I wore it on the hot blood moon night - drawn in by the midnight title - but I soon regretted that choice, as the scent nearly took my breath away.
I felt weighed down and excessively powdered by it.

But tonight, with somewhat milder temperatures, Shimmer is quite suitable for me.
The ingredients no longer stick together but are well-defined.
Now the fragrance truly brings the promised shimmer to the night.
For summer, it is still too densely powdered, but I can clearly recognize the quince, drenched in vanilla sauce.
The woody notes play into the bitter, but are softened by the moss.
However, the scent still remains powdery and dull.

I now have a hint, or rather a shimmer, of how Midnight might perform in winter.
It will be stored away for now until further notice.

This is my first comment on a fragrance, but I have been reading with interest for years.

About the scent:
It is good, in my opinion definitely a winter fragrance that should not be sprayed too generously. I find that the top/heart/base notes do not change very much but are rather uniform. All I can sniff out is vanilla. The vanilla smells like a packet of freshly opened vanilla sugar. Alongside it is an apple (probably the quince). Not a squeaky green one, nor a terribly sweet one, but rather a baked, warm apple. It becomes weaker over time, and the vanilla sugar remains. I do not recognize wood or any of the other scent notes from the description. Not exciting but warm, sweet, pleasant, and simple... for that, a bit pricey in my eyes.
