This is a light sillage, short half-life (about 3 hours on my skin) but sunny fresh-squeezed, fizzy Orangina fragrance. Totally appropriate for career/daywear, unisex and might go nicely layered with Origin's Ginger Essence Sensual skin scent or even add a unique twist to Armani's "She", which I found to be searching for a Kamakazi shot/Vodka Lemon Drop in a crowded bar. If you love this scent and want to smell like it always, you will need to carry the travel bottle in your bag and reapply probably hourly. (I can even believe I just suggested that! But honestly, this is very faint, sheer and wispy- particularly for what has become the new norm for Department Store brands. This is more like a 4711 water than a hardcore eau. It was a lovely Spring/Summer type fragrance and my favorite of the 3 in the series (Amber and Jasmine are the other two and both of those gave me sneezing fits and headaches within 30 minutes...so this is the winner for me!). 2/10 for longevity (it's a one night stand!, 3/10 for sillage (flirty), 7/10 for functionality/appropriate for any occasion and un-offensive, 3/10 for originality...it'll do, but I doubt anyone will notice. It's sort of a robotic, standardized, middle of the bell curve freshness.

A great work scent

This is so good for work! I feel fresh and clean when I wear - even if it is getting late in the afternoon and I have sprayed it in the morning. If that is not magic, what is?
It takes off very sweet/sour/citric. Some of the whiffs smell like orange juice, the good freshly squeezed one you get for brunch on Sundays. Then it turns floral, beautiful jasmine and finally the woody note lands the scent.
I own three Michael Kors fragrances and this is the best of them. I like the designs on the bottles, all are very minimalistic and square. They also come at reasonable prices.

Not Just for Women

For half a year, I searched for an everyday perfume for my husband. But everything he tried didn't match his taste. Too harsh, too sweet, too fresh, too boring...

Then a friend recommended that we try Sporty Citrus for him. He looked a bit skeptical reaching for something from the women's shelf, but 10 minutes later, the scent was in the bag. Since then, he actually wears it daily.

I like the sunny, lemony scent. Sporty Citrus is neither aquatic nor fruity-sweet. The name "sporty" fits well: unobtrusive, uncomplicated, fresh, and clean. But still noticeable. As for longevity: I think about 4 hours, because in the afternoon he likes to reapply.

Lemon Pepper or Eau de Autan

Sporty Citrus from the popular bag manufacturer Michael Kors was something I was able to test a while ago thanks to a small sample added after a Douglas purchase.

Overall, the fragrance line includes three different scents for different types of women. Besides the more elegant variants Sexy Amber and Glam Jasmin, Sporty Citrus is probably intended for the sportier, straightforward woman.

Immediately upon spraying, I perceive the citrus notes, paired with a hefty dose of pepper. It's a pity, really, as the freshness of the lemon is significantly muted and doesn't come through as well as I had hoped. Somehow, I involuntarily think of Autan spray and citronella mosquito candles; for some, this might be pleasant and evoke memories of summer, yet it wouldn't be worth it for me to purchase a perfume at such a price. Unfortunately, the scent doesn't change much on me and remains as it is, with a few woody notes appearing in the dry down.

The scent is too peppery-pungent and one-dimensional for me. Not to my taste.

However, I can certainly imagine that it could work well as a mosquito repellent ;)
Dear fans of this fragrance, please don't be mad at me for this comment. I'm sure that some might enjoy the scent.

Grapefruit + Wood

I came to this scent through a swap. I didn't expect too much. "Sporty" sounds to me like shower gel and locker room, and "Citrus" is something you find in almost every fragrance.

I would have named the scent "Citrus Woods." Only the top note is truly fresh. The slightly sharp pepper makes the citrus notes smell more like grapefruit to me. I only perceive the floral aspect in the first half hour, and even then it's very subtle.

Then a rather musty-woody base quickly breaks through, but still accompanied by the zesty grapefruit. This is a good thing, as it creates a counterbalance,

You can tell that "Sporty Citrus" is not something high-end. Everything feels a bit raw and edgy. The woods are somewhat dull, and the grapefruit is quite piercing. While it balances out and is certainly pleasant to wear, overall it does feel rather unrefined.

Sillage and longevity are very poor for me. However, I also spray it sparingly because I fear that the scent might annoy me otherwise. When you only catch a whiff, it's quite pleasant. In my opinion, "Sporty Citrus" would work better as a body spray than as a perfume.

I don't care about gender classification with fragrances at all, but I could imagine that at least younger men might take a liking to this. We only have the two scent components described above, which are often found in men's fragrances.

All in all, I like "Sporty Citrus." It's not a must-have and is really only worth it if you want a large collection with as many different scents as possible. I can't think of any fragrance in my 2000+ collection that smells exactly the same. However, you haven't missed anything important if you don't have it.
