What am I wearing?? Oh its JUST ME...

When i blind ordered this I thought, this ws going to be an excellent perfume or a disaster looking at the notes. Then i saw the name Caron...ok im in!

Extremely clever scent composed by Francoise Caron.
From the name, oh.. its "just me" from the unique composition. Leather, jasmine, pineapple swirl about with enormous silage out of the bottle sometimes you smell the leather, or the pineapple,a peppery ginger note adds spice the ylang and jasmine heart steers this citric oriental with vanilla musk..with honeyed chocolate notes for fun..wait waaat?!

This is a definite love it or leave it scent but blended and composed so skillfully, this intrigues the calloused perfumistas. Im not vibing on the angel references, but i am reviewing a 1997 perfume, and perhaps the melange of odd notes bring its comparison to Angel, but fear not, it is definitely not related to Angel. I will add this can be a polarizing scent because it is so different. But thats why i like it...

I really love this. It is .. Just Me. So clever ...and im off to obtain a full bottle somewhere...

........you bought it and I saw it...................now I hear them, they are coming to get you, they won’t find you, no one will find you, you are with me.............Jeanneyyyyyyyy. Why I think of Falco with this scent, I don’t know. It somehow fits the fragrance and is playing right now.

I’m not really a bottle fanatic, but I saw this one and knew I had to have it. And that it smells good too - thank you! I found the scent great right away, but I couldn’t say what it was. Now after the third time, I’ll try to describe it.
It smells fruity, could be pineapple and melon. But it doesn’t really matter if it smells good. At the beginning, there’s also a sharpness, could be ginger, I don’t find it peppery, the honey adds sweetness, which increases over time, but it doesn’t become overpowering. Maybe it’s the combination of honey with the other ingredients that gives a bit of sharpness - no idea. I don’t really perceive leather and also no chocolate. Then it becomes floral and oriental-spicy, somehow subtly herbal underneath. I perceive the scent rather close to the skin, the longevity is rather mediocre for my standards, but it’s still within the range. I won’t give any of this away, not a drop!

I had to check who Francoise Caron is right away. The good lady comes from the world capital of perfume - Grasse. I think I would like to visit the perfume museum there, just need a translator. French people don’t like to speak English ;) I already know who I’ll take with me. And maybe stroll in Cannes, it’s just a stone’s throw away, sipping delicious champagne, hmm. It will be similar to Botafoch or Puerto de Palma........... a French Lady Moura is moored at the dock, we sniff after the fragrant ladies and gentlemen. A light breeze blows from the sea......oh yes, it’s really nice at the Mediterranean......I’m getting sidetracked.

Francoise Caron works according to the Jean-Charles method. "The Jean-Carles method mainly consists of learning to classify scents into olfactory families: flowers, citrus fruits, and so on. We create an evaporation table of all raw materials, which allows us to understand and memorize the volatility of the different notes. Then we learn through comparisons. Once all these parts are mastered, we learn about fragrance agreements (more than 400-500) through a horizontal approach. The complexity lies in weighing an agreement. Ultimately, it’s the formula used in the Jean-Carles method that allows us to easily envision a specific result. All you have to do is use scales." Sounds as simple as she says. Iris Nobile is also by Francoise Caron, she loves Cologne and enjoys dedicating herself to the creations of the same. About niche work, she says: Complete freedom and an osmosis process with the brand creator............a true partnership of 50% - 50%. Always with the utmost respect for each other. That says it all.

Is it really me?

Not at all!

That could perhaps be the name of a shallow EdC, but not for this almost oriental fragrance, although...

I am absolutely sure that the pyramid listed above is incomplete, because there is definitely more in here.

The opening is the closest to the harmless name, as a subtle fruity note takes the lead. I can't really detect pineapple, there must be some citrus involved, and I'm also searching in vain for melons. Perhaps it's the mix of both fruits?

After this rather brief fruity interlude, the scent really picks up speed and the reserved "it's me" turns into a "move aside, here I come!"

Just Me becomes sweet now, but still within tolerable limits, and only a small trace of fruit remains. There are flowers, but they don't play a significant role; instead, a distinctly spicy character develops. Where the spices come from, only the perfumer knows, or it might just be my imagination.

The base keeps the spices alive consistently, and here I suspect that some wood and a bit of balsamic notes have been omitted. Honey could be responsible for the sweetness, but I don't smell any chocolate.

The longevity is very good, but surprisingly the intensity holds back a bit, making this fragrance wearable during the day, but not in summer.

I'm surprised that this scent still exists, as it was never really a bestseller, but rather something for connoisseurs from the very beginning.

I always associate this fragrance with a very specific person, to whom I would like to sincerely thank for this decant. :)
