Not just for afters
Yum!
It starts on a creamy citrus accord.
Think vanilla custard with a drop of nectarine essence.
Smoothness with a kick.
As citruses tend to behave in a rather volatile and fleeting fashion, this fades rather quickly, but oh boy are you left with a lovely surprise…

I love tuberose so there was a high chance that Montana 80 would be in my good book, however, there is tuberose and Tuberose, and this one is of the latter category … with a capital T.

There is a rather unusual but very clever pepper accent here. The amount is just right and I suspect it comes from the addition of Bay Leaf.
A daring move that certainly works a treat.

As it reaches dry down it becomes a gorgeously mouth-watering Tuberose soliflore that somehow lets you know now and again that there is more to it.
Simply fab.

Happy creamy tuberoses on woods
Glorious creamy woodsy milky tuberose with a prominent bay leaf note on my skin. I find it delicious and different to Crystal Noir where coconut opens the door to beachy effects, and which is spicier and more rubbery than milky as this one is. Mandarin adds a bit of freshness and juiciness which makes this floral cream sparkle above the wood base. Unlike others, I love this one in warm weather. It is a huge compliment getter meaning sillage is quite good, and it lasts all day with a couple of sprays. Uplifting and optimistic. It has a deserved place amongst my tuberose favourite perfumes.

Bright white floral with sharp woods
A pretty, very woody white floral. Almost neon pink and somewhat piercing. I get a semi-tropical tuberose accord (a jasmine heavy mix); some spicy citrus, and then bright white woods. Montana 80 smells like a nice, lovely shampoo. Very office safe.

Sometimes, though, the woody accord is a bit sour on my skin, so this may be "chemistry-dependent." It'll either be well-behaved and pretty, or a bit pissy.

Coming back since being gifted Crystal Noir EDP at Xmas--I see the comparison, but Versace is better. Well, depending on your likes, I suppose. Scent profiles about 85% the same, but with Montana taking the lead in white floral bitterness. Versace is much more friendly compared to Montana's betchiness, florals softer and more round compared to Montana's ice pick labotomy; and the base sweeter thanks to toasted coconut.

Work hard - Party hard!
Was allegedly the motto of the cocaine-laden 80s.
Can I sniff out this worldview in the present fragrance?
Yes!
However, that's also the only thing I can detect, as all the fun colorful flowers, greenery, and fruits that it is supposed to contain are just too well hidden.
Nevertheless, it is pure funk: potent and varied.
The creamy-sweet note that runs like a red thread through the fragrance development is a beautiful one. Very warm and passionate, not one-dimensional like some of today's cotton candy scents, but radiant. It is enveloped by woody and smoky notes, partially even veering into the animalistic.
Seriously: I wouldn't have expected such an innovation from Montana, as nothing exciting has come since the Suggestions triplets.
The longevity is very good and the sillage is attention-grabbing.
That fits!
A serious competitor for my Boudoir by Mrs. Westwood!

Very helpful Review 17
the loving stepmother
I always had a close relationship with my parents - so it hit me hard when they separated.
I couldn't blame either of them for it - but that's not for me to say anyway.

My mom got a dog - my dad a new partner.

To each their own, and they both seemed to be happy.

So now I had a stepmother who impressed me greatly.
She was an imposing figure - tall, athletic, always elegant - and professionally successful.
Her presence was filling the room - and it intimidated me a bit.
Her rich scent matched her perfectly.
Montana 80 is also a statement.

The prominent tuberose speaks for itself - without being too forward.
But she’s not one for small talk either.
That was also the attitude of my dear stepmother, as we liked each other and accepted one another.

However, 80 is not a cuddly scent - it’s more of a serious fragrance - but it did not fail to make an impact with its down-to-earth qualities.
80 radiates competence and self-assurance, traits I do not possess in abundance.
But my dear stepmother took me under her wing - even though our relationship was not as close as with my biological mother.

But neither was looking for a competition.
Thus, the magnificent scent also becomes milder over time - soothingly guided by aromatic orange blossom and soft vanilla.
Sandalwood even feels comforting - gently enveloped by smoky cedar.

The fragrance thus has its gentle side - just as G could also be very warm-hearted.

In memory of G, I bought this scent, and it reminds me of her special personality.

Not tuberose in the lead role this time. Here, O-flower + ambered vanilla dominate. Dusty soft iris powder + refined with retro spice.

After spraying, it feels a bit overwhelming all at once. But the drydown is amazing! Clean and creamy-woody. Worth a try!

1. Almond + amber + herb-sour-spicy = Citral/Litsea Cubeba (laurel family) Synth. Amber dominates + a pinch of geraniol. Tuberose? = None, 3. Powdery base

Delicate bouquet of iris and tuberose
with orange tree branches.
Fruity notes, amber, vanilla & woods gently soften the intensity of the flowers.*

For me, a fresh pear-happy scent, probably best in spring...

Beautiful tuberose scent that pairs with lovely O-flower and warm vanilla, laying creamy and soft on the skin. Sillage is subtle.

A lovely autumn companion with sweet O-flower, vanilla, and soft amber. I like it quite a bit
Sillage was overwhelming for me at first.

A beautiful blend of sandalwood and white flowers, it becomes wonderfully vanilla in the drydown.
